The Mooch Blog: June 2013
http://www.chiams.net/2013_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 29, 2013. Eli had her 4 month checkup a week ago. She weighed 14 lbs, 3.5 oz (64th percentile), was 25.75 inches long (94th percentile! And had a head circumference of 41 cm (52nd percentile). Her height to weight ratio, however, was only 7th percentile. Which means she is really, really skinny for her height. Eli is so long, she's started wearing 9 month clothes! No, Eli, you can't be a super model until after you finish your graduate degree. The sly girl refused us an encore. Eli's fussi...

The Mooch Blog: April 2014
http://www.chiams.net/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 9, 2014. It's been so long since we posted we have some huge developments to report on. Last time we posted, Eli was barely crawling. Well, she started taking a few tentative steps a couple of weeks ago. She also says a handful of words, like "bye", "Mama", "agua", "uh-oh", "Papa", "gracia", "de na". She started daycare a month ago and seems to have adjusted, except that lately she has been refusing to take a second nap at daycare (but still takes two naps at home). Journey of a Kumquat.

The Mooch Blog: 9 months!
http://www.chiams.net/2013/11/9-months.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. Eli has now been in the world as long as she was in the belly! 9 month check-up: 17 lbs, 4.5 oz, 27.5 inches in length, no shots! She's just starting to wave and is crawling backwards. No teeth, lots of smiling and babbling. Separation anxiety from Mami. Enjoys a variety of foods, including fish and spinach (! But is kind of lazy about feeding herself. Prefers to be spoon fed. And she moved the sleep sack out of the way and laughed! December 3, 2013 at 4:55 PM. Late Night Cop...

http://www.chiams.net/2013_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 18, 2013. Belated Happy Mother's Day! A belated Happy Mother's Day to all Moms! Eli decided to go on a growth spurt on Mother's Day and nursed every 2 hours for 24 hours, making it a very tiring day. MVP and fam came over for dinner and we dined al fresco on miso black cod. Miso black cod fans. I can lift my head! Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Luigi Oli Uli Sir Toppam Hatt. Top hat, blazer and sunglasses, check, check, check! I'd wear overalls every day if I could! That usually means he doesn't know.

The Mooch Blog: March 2013
http://www.chiams.net/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 31, 2013. We've been asked a few times where our kids' names came from, so here is the explanation:. A couple of years before we had Oli, I dreamt we adopted a baby boy from Korea and his name was Oliver. We both liked the name, but haven't adopted any kids. I didn't think we needed to have a middle name for Oli, but Jorge did and we liked Gael, and the only person we know with that name is the actor Gael Garcia Bernal. The eldest Dashwood sister in Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility".

The Mooch Blog: Expo Line adventure with Tia Carmen and Uncle James
http://www.chiams.net/2013/10/expo-line-adventure-with-tia-carmen-and.html
Monday, October 14, 2013. Expo Line adventure with Tia Carmen and Uncle James. An unexpected visit resulted in a trip down the Expo Line for burgers and a Space Shuttle. Oli thinks the Expo Line is way faster than the Gold Line but the trains are older. He noticed that it spends more time on the street next to cars. He said "but this is not a Street Car, it's a train! He pointed out that the wheels of the Expo Line trains do not have connecting rods (pedales, he called them). Very observant. 18 Month Bas...

The Mooch Blog: Eli 0.5
http://www.chiams.net/2013/08/eli-05.html
Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Eli turned 6 months old yesterday! We go for her check-up on Friday, so no stats at this time. She can now roll over from back to front and vice versa, but she's not very interested in rolling most of the time. She can sit on her own and play with toys for a few minutes at a time, but can still topple over easily, so we can't leave her alone when she is sitting. The proof is in the poop! Happier and better rested now! August 22, 2013 at 4:06 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Eli at 16 months. We missed Eli's 15 month check up. This is what happens to second children. We didn't even realize we had missed it until Jorge called the pediatrician's office to ask a question and they told him we should have brought her in a month ago. Better late than never, so we took her in a month late for her 15 month check up. Don't forget about me! We can be pretty darn cute when we want. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
