I was just tidying my office and stumbled across this scribbling in an old notebook…. I saw a poster the other day. Creativity’s dangerous don’t you know. He’s on the loose again. Best to keep him locked up. Where he can’t do any harm…. Where he can’t get in the way…. He makes a mess. He’s out of control. He’s dangerous don’t you know. He puts tunes in my head. 8220;what if”.

We are told to be give thanks in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18) but there’s no shying away from it, sometimes it’s really hard to be thankful. Sometimes just so much seems to be going wrong that everything seems bleak and dark and, well, quite frankly we don’t feel all that thankful…. Lord, please give me a thankful heart,. Help me to see Your good, Your love around me.

This morning the lyrics of a song jumped out at me:. 8220;Before I bring my need I will bring my heart”. It all seems very virtuous and proper but I have to disagree. The artist has it all backwards.
