Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Sunday, April 26, 2015. Summary: Run Like a Girl. In summary of the womanhood series, I wanted to recap what the last 6 blog posts have been saying about the difference between a woman of God, who lives with His strength, or a wimpy woman, who lives out of her own ability. Here's what we've covered:. Tries to be like a man. Has no long term impact. Is foolish with her words. Is fearful to commit and only does things that benefit herself. Lets the world determine her value.

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Monday, December 15, 2014. No Substitutes, please! Today was "Operation Christmas Shopping List." You know the drill! You get going with excitement, maybe a Christmas song on the radio and a little merry tune in your heart. Maybe you wear a little festive red and green jewelry or write your list on a pad of paper lined with snowflakes at the top. And you say to yourself with a contented sigh, "I just LOVE Christmas! So this was me this morning. Then, I decided, I needed ...

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Humans of Tampa Bay: Yellow Fan Man. I was thinking this week how I often can take life too seriously. I was also thinking that for years, I somehow run into or observe some of the strangest people that ever lived. Not sure how these things fit together, but sometimes I laugh out loud at things I see and I think, now that's funny! Working on a college campus definitely adds to the chance of some hilarious human sightings. Links to this post.

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Being a Life Long Learner (Character Trait #9). Yeakley's second to last chapter in his character book surprised me. A whole chapter devoted to being a life-long learner. So I've been thinking of things that are natural teachers in my life, that take me to school and make me use those brain cells that I may have at one time left in my high school locker. Here's some thoughts:. How could I not ask about this! People's Responses in Circumstances.

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Discipleship: A Legacy of Influence. John 12:24- Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Wimpy women live only for themselves. But strong woman are life givers, leaving a legacy that impacts the world! Sophomore year, I went to a conference with a collegiate ministry, mainly. Was at the beach and my friends would be. Its something that you will love! I don't wa...

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Friday, October 26, 2012. Fear: I Think I Just Saw a Ghost. (Characteristic #10: Courage). But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost! 8221; and they cried out in fear." Matthew 14:26. Not quite a direct quote, but you get the idea.). Here's some observations I have made on fear:. 1 Fear leads to mediocre living of a mediocre life. 2 Fear makes you believe irrational things and then respond irrationally to life. Child...

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Thursday, March 14, 2013. Learning to be Irresponsible. I used to refer to responsibility as the “R” word. When I was 17 or 18, I loathed it. Isn’t it funny how something you loathe can quickly become something not only that you decide is good, but that you take on to a fault? Now, if you would have asked me if that is what I LIKED to be called, I would have psh-ed at you and given you a smirky "are you serious? The unraveling of Responsible Rachel came in the form of ph...

Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Random things I've been wondering lately. I'd tweet them if I had a twitter account, but I don't. So, here it goes:. 1 How did Carly Rae Jepsen's phrase, Call me Maybe actually become part of people's every day speech? 2 Why do Singles Pastors always reference their amazing wives and children in front of an audience that is filled with people who can not relate to these statements? 4 Why do people always assume I'm still in college?

living for more: A Woman's Value: More than Skin Deep
http://rachofel.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-womans-value-more-than-skin-deep.html
Adventures of a kind-of grown-up. Sunday, April 19, 2015. A Woman's Value: More than Skin Deep. A wimpy woman lets the world determine her value. But a woman of strength lets God determine her value. I want to specifically address the area of Beauty here, as often I think this is one of the first things that can affect our idea of our worth. 1 Peter 3:3-5 says:. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Likewise, the ...
