Sunday, January 26, 2014. I totally forgot I watched this last weekend. Saint Young Men. Became one of those Tumblr phenomenons my roommate introduced me to, because I don't tumble. Saint Young Men. Is a four chapter OVA adapted from a manga of the same name. Its main characters are none other than Buddha and Jesus, and they live in an apartment together. Was it a recipe for success? Have been more offensive? Do I really need to see Jesus going to a grocery store? Monday, January 20, 2014. I really dig t...

I now find myself captivated by shojo/slice-of-life shows, in stark contrast with my usual sci-fi fare (I blame both my job at GoBoiano. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. The Chicken or the Egg? The first time I saw Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. I didnt know what to think. Saying that I hated. It seems too strong, but thats the best word I can summon. I thought it was another example of Mamoru Oshii being dense, slow and boring. Now that Im several years wiser, Im of the exact opposite opinion: Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. Is an insanely pleasurable movie. Yes, pleasurable. Ghost in the Shell. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, October 25, 2014. Hey gang, Nelson here. It's been a while, I know. With graduate school at Brooklyn College becoming something I take seriously nowadays - unlike the first year where I spent my time lamenting the advent of adulthood - I find myself unable to watch anime at all. I've never animated anything before, but that's not gonna stop me. Star Crossed Anim...

I've been collaborating with my friend Erica (Mrs. Blunder) on a new website, ProjectOtaku.com. Where we and a few writers aim to create a genuinely friendly atmosphere for anibloggers. I'll still be blogging here at The Anime Guardians. Monday, May 20, 2013. Anime Power Rankings: A Little Bit of Fame. I think that'...
