French Sampler: Something for the Weekend
http://thefrenchsampler.blogspot.com/2013/03/something-for-weekend.html
Friday, March 22, 2013. Something for the Weekend. Crusoe, the greeter. If you are a friend or a stranger with a kindly face and disposition he will push that door open and greet you with great enthusiasm and a wagging tail, if you mean us ill he will growl and stand his ground and if you are a postman he will rush out, bark and chase your van up the lane. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. March 23, 2013 at 4:31 AM. This comment has been removed by the author. March 23, 2013 at 4:33 AM. A wonderful gr...

The Sun Sets, The Mood Changes. Often places and objects that transform, reveal a visible pace of change. This shack, called the Lucid Stead. Is an installation created by Phillip K. Smith III on a 70-year-old wooden residence in the California High Desert. It wears its heart cleverly on its sleeve, as you can see right through it. While quietly changing its mood as the sun rises and sets, it settles into its surroundings. It endures. It thrives. It fascinates. Water image: Gabrielisak Photography. Funny...

Desert Light
http://www.econesting.com/2015/04/08/desert-light
My first memory is of light the brightness of light light all around. Georgia O’Keeffe. It struck me the minute I stepped off the plane. That light! After spending hours in airless airports, I thought I landed in a foreign country. At first glance, the Albuquerque landscape seemed barren, thirsty dry and dramatically not green, like my east coast home, that had finally begun to recover from the depths of winter. Sounded a wake-up call in unison. I knew it would be dry, but was it supposed to be bone-dry?

Sheep In Fog: July 2015
http://sheepinfogge.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. I need to be better at writing down what Owen says daily, because he is still very funny these days and I’d like to remember. In general right now he is very into talking about emotions, specifically being grumpy and/or angry. If we ask him if he wants to do something, he will often answer, “No! I want to be grumpy right now! 8221; To which I often reply, “Well it seems as if you’ve met your goal.” He is often grumpy, although that will change on a dime. Wednesday, July 22, 2015.

News & Events. A Mother’s Day Letter to Motherless Daughters. May 6, 2015. It’s a cloudy yet bright day in Los Angeles, the kind of day where it feels like anything can happen a light drizzle can begin, the temperature can drop without warning, or a shaft of sun might break through and bathe us all in light. The kind of day that reminds you that whatever you’re seeing right now, whatever seems fixed and immutable, can change. Or maybe I’m just in a funky mood because of what happened this morning. No whe...

Gray Matter
http://www.econesting.com/2014/10/13/gray-matter
This is a hard post to write. How do you put into words something you’ve held so close for so long — something you’ve worked on when you weren’t working — when your time was yours to play and you reset time and space to write? Then my time filled up with work. My last unpublished post titled, No Time To Blog, seemed frivolous and obvious. Why would anyone want to read about not posting? Life happens. Everyone’s busy. Give it a break. Delete. So why share news of my upcoming book nowin its gestation?
