I Love These People. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. There is just something about winter that makes me want to crochet non stop. Couple that with Pintrest, and you get some pretty cool blankets. I found these 2 and fell in love. I've made a few different versions of these blankets for friends and baby showers. I plan on making that floral one in different colors too. But since spring is just around the corner,. And I haven't wanted to look at a crochet hook for a few weeks,. I'm making quite the collection.

Sunday, June 16, 2013. Lord Huron / Portugal the Man. In April a group of us went to Pomona for the Lord Huron and Portugal the Man show. It was so good! So so good I want to go again. Disneyland with Emily and Casey. While Emily and Casey were here we went to Disneyland for a day. It may be one of my favorite days and Disneyland ever. Just so good, all of it. Julie Gilroy, textile artist

My love of colour, pattern and textiles inspire my creations. The appliqué and stitches build depth, texture and warmth. Each artwork is initially drawn out in black and white, before a colour palette is created. The appliqués of vibrant woolfelt are hand cut and laid onto heavy vintage linen or cotton backgrounds. No glue or bonding is used in the appliqué process, only hundreds of pins. All pieces are sewn in my studio using my beloved sewing machine.
