I'm going to give you a piece of my mind. Thursday, August 01, 2013. Year of the Cicada. So as most everyone knows, we had the emergence of the 17-year cicadas here in the Northeast this Spring. Creepy things - a couple of inches long with weird red eyes. We dreaded the arrival of them. Tolerated them when they were here. There are about 30,000 total people in the town (there were more than that at each of the two universities I attended! Alex and I were looking at all the forsythia blooming around town the other day (and they are blooming EVERYWHERE - beautiful big yellow bushes everywhere).
