http://www.juliescvsblog.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Here we go again. Another chance to get my presentaion skills up to standard. Us trainee's are putting together a presentation about how useful blogging can be. John and myself are working at how blogging can help community development and enable communities to share information and make new contacts with other communities. If anyone has any ideas we would be grateful? Blogging is about sharing and having an oppertunity to have your say. So lets put it to the test. Another w...

Julie's SCVS Blog: December 2005

http://www.juliescvsblog.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 31, 2005. For the last few months I've been thinking about taking a group of youngsters from the karate club to Japan. This would be the jewel in the crown for any student to have the opportunity to train and grade with the Japanese Grand Masters. These students would live and train for 2 weeks in the Japanese way and experience Japanese Culture first hand. So if anyone has a spare 20,000 (ha ha ) or any funding ideas I would be very grateful. Monday, January 30, 2006. One more day to go before the presentation. Everything is finally coming together (we hope). This is a great opportunity to practice all the skills we have learned and for Becky and Michelle to have a go at their first presentation. At the moment the nerves seem fine but who knows about on the day, The one thing I am sure of this that we will support each other and hopefully sell the idea of blogging to our audience. Julie's SCVS Blog: Book club project

http://www.juliescvsblog.blogspot.com/2006/01/book-club-project.html

Thursday, January 19, 2006. This week I've been a little under the weather and its been a long week but working with volunteers today put the smile back on my face. Children from Gors School were making a gaint book about themselves and their community. Whoever thought this idea up is brilliant. Its so simple and cheap to do. From past to present each page was brilliant and as individual as the person who made it. Posted by Julie @ 10:07 PM. At 20/1/06 1:59 PM. Sounds superb. Two questions:. The children...

Julie's SCVS Blog: Fun and Games

http://www.juliescvsblog.blogspot.com/2006/01/fun-and-games.html

Wednesday, January 25, 2006. At the moment I'm working with Topic House and Homestart so today along with Michelle we were helping with the mums and toddlers group. Michelle had a great idea to make cornflake chocolate cakes with the toddlers. This was great fun and everyone enjoyed themselves. If anyone has any ideas it would be great. Posted by Julie @ 11:31 PM. At 26/1/06 9:25 AM. Poster paint, pasta and string to make jewellery went down a storm at the play scheme we did in Townhill. Cheap too!

The projects ive visited as well have been interesting to visit because now I know were these organations are what exactly they do which will be useful for the future. Becky's Community Blog: November 2005

http://scvsbeckyblog.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 04, 2005. I was suprised about the course yesterday, i didnt expect it to be as interesting as it was! I really enjoyed the course finding out about other peoples cultures and the way they have to do certain things! Its also given me a different outlook on certain issues that have been looked at in the past as wrong by some people! But listening to the speakers yesterday, it shows that everything is done for a reason! So yes the course has done its job! Posted by Becky at 4:36 PM.

Thursday, October 20, 2005. Local democracy week quiz. I really did expect something totally different and was shocked when i got there! It was a really nice up to date venue, with excellent technology! Also having voting pads made it more interesting! There was a wide range of questions, which was really good! And the answers were good to know! Also there was some funny questions and answers, which did make me laugh! The quizmasters were very enthusiastic which made it more funny again! Friday, October 28, 2005. After all the sleepness nights, all the planning, all the panic attacks, the weather has beaten us. The ground where we are going to be planting is saturated and is going to cut up as soon as people start to walk on it, let alone start digging it up. Frantic phone calls have been made to all concerned which did mean that i got to find out that the volunteers are pleased too. some said they would have come no matter but are pleased it will be moved to another day.
