1 Feb, 2015. A recent journal entry, copied here mostly unedited. The past few weeks had left me feeling exhausted. Honestly, I don't understand how you people out there live, how you get up every day and move through life and do stuff. Somewhere, somehow, there has to be lasting peace. "Strength to face the day," but that implies each day in an adversary bent on our destruction, and we must have strength to fight. What a miserable picture of existence. Just want to escape, but there is no where to go.

I highlight words I look up in my favorite dictionary, The American Heritage Dictionary, Second College Edition, which I have had for more than twenty years. They appear to have more power as they act out their role, but they are just as much controlled by that system. As Paul pointed out. The real fight is not against other people, but against the ideas and systems that hold all people captive. To paraphrase Eckhart Tolle: Submission to the system is necessary, until you realize it isn't.
