Mama's: Winding down from Whakatane
http://mamampira.blogspot.com/2015/08/winding-down-from-whakatane.html
Sunday, 9 August 2015. Winding down from Whakatane. Dotterel Point was sooo beautiful that we stayed another night: the only campervan in the car park, though several cars had been and gone with dog walkers or surfers. One man had visited three times, surfing twice, in the course of 8 hours. We had stayed in many, many lovely spots, but where else could you watch rolling surf pounding the beach and then, turning around, gaze at the calm waters of a shallow harbour only a hundred metres or so behind us?

I was born loved. 8220; Dengst du es is un Boo oder un Madel? Do you think it’ll be a boy or a girl? 8221; my dad had asked my mom when they were expecting their second child. 8220;Aw, it’ll probably be another boy,” was my mom’s off-hand remark. 8220;But wouldn’t it be nice to have a girl? 8221; came his wistful response.

The Story of an Old Order Mennonite Girl. Circle Letters: The Story of an Old Order Mennonite Girl - A Memoir. By Aleta M. Schrock. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Sunday: Psalm 126: 1-2. One day as I was getting into my car in the Meijer parking lot, I glanced up and saw this man:. His face lifted towards the heavens aglow with the glory of God,. His eyes shining, pure delight,. His lips parted in laughter,. Filled with the joy of the Lord. Then was our mouth filled with laughter. Hath done great things for them.

Not Just A Name: May 2012

Not Just A Name. God is not just a name.He is so much more! Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Can You Hear Me Now? Posted by Sherrey Meyer. Several years ago Verizon Wireless ran an ad campaign with this image spread across our TVs, newspapers, magazines, the Internet. Who didn't know who owned the tag line, "Can you hear me now? Verizon had adopted the slogan "We never stop working for you," with commercials showing a Verizon employee walking about in strange places continuously asking, "Can you hear me now?

Tuesday, 16 June 2015. Inspiring woman: quotes here. In remembrance, we’ve gathered 30 of her most inspiring quotes. Share your favorites to celebrate the life and legacy of a woman who made an incalculable impact on Christianity around the world. The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian makes me a different kind of woman. Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them. I do know that waiting on God requires the ...

Friday, 13 February 2015. Having family far away - i.e. NOT IN THE SAME HOUSE - is always a sorrow. Not mega, just, mostly, a dull dull ache. A missing. A lacking. An emptiness. A feeling mixed with thankfulness and contentment and joy that our son and daughter are making independent ways in life, spreading wings, soaring with God into the world. A son who is a marvellous, caring, fun-filled and outstanding. Another 'adopted' daughter, the daughter's bestie, who I love as my own. And yet, as George Eliot...

Sunday, 28 September 2014. The God of Second Chances. The weekend has been perfect for some gentle surfing. The sea is seasonably warm, the sunshine unseasonably strong and constant and the waves clean and gentle: just enough for a little run in towards the beach on a longboard or bodyboard. It has felt good: the sun on my face, the salt water silky on my skin, turquoise depths rolling gently around my body. Carrying me further and faster than I anticipate. Postscript: I shared this, and then some more -...

Mama's: "Whakatane" (Fha ka taa nee) - childishly amusing in English
http://mamampira.blogspot.com/2015/08/whakatane.html
Sunday, 2 August 2015. Whakatane" (Fha ka taa nee) - childishly amusing in English. From Tauranga, off to Whakatane Baptist Church - superb. Such a warm welcome - we lost count of how many people came to talk to us (including a guy whose sister-in-law is a Guernsey girl, living in Rotorua) *see note below*. And by the time we met the pastor, he already knew our names and where we were from! Such a vibrant church with a lot going on. Reputedly the only one to be found in a town (in New Zealand? Chasing Fr...
