Life with Justin & Rachel

Tuesday, January 10, 2017. December was a "short" month, with the holidays and all. It went by so quickly! We took the last two weeks off for Christmas, so we jam packed a ton of things the first couple of weeks. This was actually done at the end of November, but it's 'Decembery' so I'll post it here ;) we got a little Christmas tree! It was about four feet tall. I wanted a shorter one this year ( last year's. Was about six feet), and I just loved our cute little tiny tree. That same morning, Meg and Sea...

Life with Justin & Rachel: October 2015

http://justinandrachelporter.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 31, 2015. Last year was our first Halloween in Eugene, and we didn't do anything too festive. We picked up a pumpkin from Albertson's, carved it with friends, then had PF Chang's for dinner. Haha! This year was a lot more fun. A couple weekends ago we went to Lone Pine Farm with Meg and Sean to pick out pumpkins. It's definitely more fun to pick your pumpkin from a pumpkin patch than it is to get it from a grocery store ;) Lone Pine was fun! For the night of Halloween (tonight) we are p...

Life with Justin & Rachel: December 2015

http://justinandrachelporter.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Thanksgiving weekend was a time full of relaxation and fooood! We luckily had time off work Thursday and Friday, so it was awesome to sleep in! Since we stayed in Eugene, we had a big Thanksgiving dinner with some families in our apartment complex. The food was SO DELICIOUS! Our neighbor smoked a turkey and it was yummy. Justin had to leave a bit early to work on a paper, but I stayed and played with some babies :). On Friday morning we got a Christmas tree!

Life with Justin & Rachel: Picking The Perfect Christmas Tree

http://justinandrachelporter.blogspot.com/2015/11/picking-perfect-christmas-tree.html

Monday, November 30, 2015. Picking The Perfect Christmas Tree. Last weekend we drove over to Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farm with Meg and Sean to find us a tree! I have always had fake trees so I didn't even realize that Christmas tree farms were a real thing. Meg picked this farm, and I am so glad she did. It was so much fun. We drove over around 10am, and it was sunny in Eugene but got foggy as we drove towards the farm. Tree after tree after tree. Justin ready to saw down the tree. December 14, 20...

Life with Justin & Rachel: Life Lately- End of Nov/Beginning of Dec

http://justinandrachelporter.blogspot.com/2016/12/life-lately-end-of-novbeginning-of-dec.html

Monday, December 12, 2016. Life Lately- End of Nov/Beginning of Dec. On the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend, I was driving to work. I was stopped at a red light when I heard/felt a big 'THUNK'. I looked behind me, and a lady in a green Subaru Outback had rear ended me! I ended up having a rental car all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I was able to pick up our car on Thursday. Apparently the lady did more damage than we originally thought. The repair estimates were almost $1,000! This is very trivi...

Life with Justin & Rachel: 25

http://justinandrachelporter.blogspot.com/2016/11/25_28.html

Monday, November 28, 2016. I've been dreading my birthday all year. My heart still feels like it is 21 years old, so turning "mid twenty" made me sad! BUT thank goodness for the wonderful people in my life who have made me feel so loved. On Monday Meg took me to get some treats at 5th Street Public Market - and there were a bunch of other friends there to surprise me! Who knew so many young LDS wives would be in Eugene at the same time as us! Big thanks to this girl. She's got a huge heart! This was his ...

Well, everyone. I have a new hobby. Humor writing. Here is a link to my first "story.". For you faithful readers of my blog, you'll recognize it, but it's funny and you'll likely still get a big kick out of it. Please, when you read it though, click the "vote up" button at the bottom of the page. Thanks so much! Our turn for vacation. It seems like nearly everyone we know (or at least hang out with) have gone on some sort of week long vacation in the last month. Where were we? Jen and Keith Come to Visit.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014. I was trying to get pictures of Mattie taking a step and of course she wouldn't cooperate. Instead I got a bunch of her cute and silly faces. You can't help but smile when she rewards you with one of her big grins. I am so thankful she is such a happy and friendly baby. And she has plenty of silly faces too that just make me laugh. Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Mattie has started taking steps! Friday, February 14, 2014. Happy Valentine's Day everybody! Friday, January 10, 2014.
