Joe and Jen's Cooking Extravaganza! Friday night Joe and I were bored and looking for something to do. We brainstormed and decided to make food! It began with chopping onions, celery, and potatoes. It ended with a full pot of potato soup, a 9x13 pan full of yeast rolls, and 8 quarts of homemade applesauce. Joe calls this "apple poo.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life as a Horst. If you haven't heard yet, Joe and I are going to be spending at least 12 months in Bulgaria! We anticipate leaving in July. more details to come later! The last few months have been a whirlwind! I've heard people say time goes faster and faster as you get older, but I've never really believed it until now! Every month it gets to be the 30th or 31st, and I wonder where the month went! Diesal has improved tremendously since the start of 2010! He's learning "place," "come," "down," and not to cross a rope!

On April 30, 2009, we went to the Wayne County Humane Society. And picked up Diesal, a dog that had been picked up by the animal cruelty officer from somewhere in the county. He had been found tied tightly to a post or tree of some sort with no food or water. At 58lbs, all that was left of him was skin and bones. Apparently when they found him, he had multiple leather collars tightly fastened around his neck. As you can see in this photo, they had rubbed his fur down to his skin. Traveling with land skii...

Our terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Yesterday Joe and I could barely wait for today to arrive. There were so many exciting things to do and on top of it all we got to sleep in! Sleeping went quite well, even though I woke up at 8 and couldn't go back to sleep. (This week, that's still sleeping in for me! Well it only gets better.
