teach me to hope: April 2016
http://teachmetohope.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
The days are long but the years are short.". On to the weekend. We (the baby and I - we let Daddy sleep in) woke up with the early birds and made a batch of muffins and puttered around the house, sorting through baby clothes that he's grown out of. It's funny how our little guy only wore some outfits once or twice. Those new born outfits are so tiny! That's my plan :). Have a great weekend! Too many beautiful photos of baby and pets this weekend. I'm working on my scrappy trip around the world quilt....

teach me to hope: apple orchard
http://teachmetohope.blogspot.com/2016/10/apple-orchard.html
We went out today to an apple orchard with my brother and his family. It was a beautiful October day. The blog has been quiet lately, but I've still been doing a lot of projects behind the scenes. I just finished a baby blanket for my husband's cousin and made a cute pouch for my wallet and cell phone. I got the pattern for the pouch from the book Beyond Cotton. Sweater for my friend's first baby. I hope you are all having a good fall. Labels: 2016 sweater challenge. October 10, 2016 at 10:52 PM.

teach me to hope: new year revival
http://teachmetohope.blogspot.com/2017/01/new-year-revival.html
Try as you may to pose them and sit them just right, it's always the candid shots that are the most appealing. We have been knitting, baking and living away here. I've just not been posting a lot because first I lost the do-dad that transfers photos to my computer and then I lost the photo card to my my camera. Then I just got lazy, or was it tired chasing after a one year old? Happy belated New Year to everyone! January 9, 2017 at 11:08 AM. What a handsome little guy! January 11, 2017 at 7:56 PM.

teach me to hope: February 2016
http://teachmetohope.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
I lucked out when I brought two geranium plants in from my window boxes this past fall. I was able to keep them alive and get them to bloom again. There's nothing like the splash of bright color in late February to remind you that spring is coming and to keep your hopes up. That's how Minnesotans are with spring sun too :). Flowers on the Windowsill. Such a cozy image. Hope I have enough to still finish the mittens. I talk about the mittens here. We have been so blessed! PS Linking up with Nicole. One of...

The Way I Sew It: Chocolate Beet Cake: Round Two
http://thewayisewit.blogspot.com/2013/09/chocolate-beet-cake-round-two.html
Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Chocolate Beet Cake: Round Two. This one's a keeper! Julie, who blogs at Julie Lou. Commented last week on my failed attempt at a chocolate beet cake, including a link to a recipe. She has used with success. So, with a Ziplock bag of fresh beets in the fridge, I gave it a try. This recipe called for raw, grated beets. Here are the little ruby gems, peeled and quartered and ready for a spin in the food processor. Ready to go in the oven - the batter is sort of pink. Now, I b...
