Map of Cities Visited. This piece was the first step I took in the new direction of developing a visual language that I could be happy with. I had been using pink in the previous works because it was so strange and other worldly to me, but choosing a color so soon and then sticking to it so matrimonially was causing me to make other decisions way to prematurely and limiting the exploration I should have been making earlier on. Spring 2009, Ceramic Installation. This work was completed in my junior year as a sculptural installation. It is one of the first pieces I created in response to the concept of loss. The figures motionlessly floating in their indoor and outdoor installation spaces are meant to convey a sense of apathy and listlessness. Greenware figure multiples in the studio. They are approximately 6.5 " tall. These figures were placed in boats outside in a small, green seating area on campus. Map of Cities Visited.
