Rue Sansregret: January 2013
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Tuesday, 29 January 2013. The Power of Soccer. There was 5 minutes left in the movie I was watching when the power went out at Riverwalk Mall. The power went out just before 7:30 pm - which is not so coincidentally when the latest Africa Cup of Nations game was about to start. We had a fun power-free evening. Last Friday, when temperatures soared close to 40 degrees Celsius, my office-mates plugged away in the heat, without air-conditioning, and long after the bat...

Rue Sansregret: My hands are small...
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013/05/my-hands-are-small.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Tuesday, 14 May 2013. My hands are small. My hands are small, I know. But they're not yours, they are my own. But they're not yours, they are my own. And I am never broken. We are never broken. We are God's eyes. God's mind. God's Heart. We are God's hands. Love, Aunt Stephanie. 18 May 2013 at 15:45. Rue Sansregret: September 2012
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Sunday, 16 September 2012. I am back from a sunny, sandy visit to Namibia with my cousin and her husband from Australia, and have just received a visitor from my home in Edmonton. I will leave my friend to recover from jet lag for a few days as I help BOCAIP with a resource mobilization workshop and Annual General Meeting. So, you may not hear much from me until I am back in early October. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Stepping off the Edge.

Rue Sansregret: May 2013
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Thursday, 23 May 2013. Rue Sansregret: Full Circle. I attended a debriefing session for recently returned Uniterra volunteers in Montreal. It was an opportunity to discuss and share experiences and give program related feedback to the Uniterra team. I was in the company of those who recently returned from placements in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bolivia, Peru, Senegal, Ghana, and Malawi. I was the only one there who had been placed in Botswana. Rue Sansregret: Spring Cleaning
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013/06/spring-cleaning.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Monday, 10 June 2013. When I moved to Botswana, I stored most of my personal effects at my father's house - the house I grew up in. Prior to leaving, I spent many weekends at Dad's house sorting through some of my late mother's things. I didn't get through it all. Some processes take time, especially when they evoke memories. What can I say? We figured that even if he doesn't move soon, we would still need to clear out the things he no longer needs or uses - thing...

Rue Sansregret: Celebrating winter, friendships, and birthdays
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013/04/celebrating-winter-friendships-and.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Thursday, 4 April 2013. Celebrating winter, friendships, and birthdays. I have been back in Edmonton about 6 weeks now, and have managed to spend three weekends on out of town excursions with friends. I also caught up with Roxanne, Diane, and Andrea on a girls' spa weekend escape to Red Deer, where we stayed at a guest ranch and celebrated Roxy's milestone birthday (I won't say which one! Here is some evidence of our shenanigans! Birthday girl stoking the fire.

Rue Sansregret: ...And Then Some !
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013/04/and-then-some.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Wednesday, 24 April 2013. My Aunt Eleanor was a true inspiration to all of us. She was the eldest of 5 siblings, raised in Montreal, Quebec. My father describes her as an "ice-breaker" who cleared the waters for her younger siblings. She challenged convention and tradition to make life a little easier for those following along behind her. It was a touching reunion, with short daily visits, a trip to a nearby animal sanctuary, and the reliving of fond memories over...

Rue Sansregret: November 2012
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Wednesday, 28 November 2012. This is post number 100 since I started this blog, nearly one year ago. At this time last year, I had just returned home from my pre-orientation session in Montreal, where I stumbled upon Rue Sansregret, a dark mysterious alley with no clear end in sight. I wonder.at this time next year, once I have returned to Edmonton and settled into my regular routine, will I have found another 100 things of interest to share? It's a hard life".

Rue Sansregret: December 2012
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Tuesday, 18 December 2012. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! On Sunday, I hosted "WUSCY COOKIE Madness" at my house. Melissa, Haley, David, Alison, Thandi, Becca and I baked up a storm of brownies, cupcakes, fudge, shortbread, and peanut butter balls. While the baking was cooling, so were we - in the pool! Christmas in Africa - what can I say? Christmas decorations, courtesy of my family! Becca and Thandi mixing cupcake batter. Saturday, 8 December 2012.
