July 20, 2015. A twist on short course competition – Divided into two or more heats of up to 14 paddlers, you’ll sprint from the beach and onto your board around a short buoy-riddled course (qualifying laps may include a beach run between laps). It’s a spectator-friendly event that serves up exciting head-to-head competition. What does it look like? It’s full of action and open to to everyone who enters either SATURDAY ONLY or ALL EVENTS. Which Class will you be in? Competitive Men (King of Kalamalka).

RAIL TRAIL RECREATIONAL RACE (2 Miles):. Recreational – All boards. New Course) Short Course race for recreational athletes of all ages and levels. You’ll zing Southeast towards Sovereign Park and then across to the West side where the Okanagan Rail Trail meets with the lake. Sure there are awards but it’s more about the fun than the famous. All boards welcome. Beginner and Intermediate paddlers who are looking to get a sample of SUP racing and/or for those who want to use it as a warm up for Wikiholo.

Adventures in Paddling with Type 1 Diabetes. Off to Australia for the 2016 World Outrigger Sprint Championships. April 30, 2016. The training is done, the preparations complete. Now it’s time to get on a plane and get acclimated to my home for the next two weeks. Got out last night after work, a little bit of rain but felt good. Pulled out a shirt from worlds 6 years ago to remind me of the amazing people that I have met over the years at these events. Can’t wait to play with these when I come home!
