On the front wall of the Natural History Museum building at the Sarawak Museum garden I saw this giant replica of the Rajah Brooke Birdwing Butterfly (. The butterfly was named after the first white Rajah of Sarawak- Sir James Brooke by Alfred Wallace while on his travels to Sarawak in the middle of the 19th century. Tuesday, November 26, 2013. The male Olive-backed sunbird. I am pleased today to see the Olive-backed sunbird chirping away in the garden. It is the male of the species that was busy sipping the early morning nectar from the flowers of the Chinese hat plant ( Holmskioldia sanguinea. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Bonsai Show and Sale at Mile 7 , Kuching. My first outing arriving from Bintulu yesterday was to see a bonsai show and sale at Mile 7, Kuching. Situated at a public open space right in the middle of the town, thousands of bonsais were displayed , some in proper vases or pots, while others especially the larger ones were still having their rooting system or plant bases wrapped in gunny sacks.
