Glenesk Studio: March 2015
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. I've had Dante's Divine Comedy. On my phone, so I get to read it while I'm on the go and haven't anything else to do while I wait or travel - you only want your Dante in bite-size pieces, especially in translation. But it has come into its own on this trip, especially when I hit Rome (spoilers! But earlier I visited Musee Rodin in Paris and got to see Rodin's bronze The Gates of Hell. Initially inspired by the first part of The Divine Comedy: Inferno,. Saturday, 28 March 2015.

Glenesk Studio: November 2014
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 17 November 2014. The Boonoo Boonoo Falls were a little underwhelming. On the way back to the main road, I detour to Thunderbolt's hideout. History in the telling. The guys at the Bingara Museum were really friendly and happy to search through their files for anything relevant to me and later took me through their significant collection, including a school house. They were able to give me a copy of my grandfather with the other recruits from the town. Tuesday, 11 November 2014. I drove to Molong ...

Glenesk Studio: Rive gauche musketeers
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2015/03/rive-gauche-musketeers.html
Saturday, 28 March 2015. Arrived in Paris, to a great apartment just near Pont Neuf. My windows overlooked Rue de Nevers, allegedly where the Musketeers held secret meetings. Could this be the doorway? Nowadays the Rue is home to the overflow of. They're my window pots, up in line with the lamp. Highlander clientele, a rowdy Scottish pub. Looking towards the Seine. Glenesk Studio: November 2007
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 28 November 2007. I was going to fight the urge to put photos of our pets on the blog, but who could resist when they congregate around the studio? This is my chickens' idea of putting themselves to bed, even though I have to pick them up and take them to the coop each night. Tuesday, 20 November 2007. I was so glad to finally get somewhere with my spring cleaning that I just had to post some photos even though they're not studio related. Monday, 19 November 2007. Friday, 16 November 2007.

Tuesday, 8 September 2009. Time for a monthly check in - I can finish showing you some Chinese images. I was looking for a theme but let's just do 'China in July' and be done with it! Forbidden City, Beijing dragon column - made me think of totem poles. Dong Hu exterior 1934, Shanghai. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Watermark theme. Powered by Blogger.

Glenesk Studio: August 2009
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 5 August 2009. I was very lucky recently to take a quick trip to China and had planned to have a running art blog of all the great things I saw. Alas for the great wall of China - no access to blogs :-(. So I'll just show a couple of things that grabbed my attention while there. Had exquisite explanations of each item and we chose a selection of juices with specific cleansing properties. While we were waiting for our bill, we were presented with this complimentary watermelon:.

Glenesk Studio: Lion passant
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2015/03/walking-lions.html
Saturday, 28 March 2015. I won't use the F word even though I'm in Paris, but let's just agree that the journey's just as important as the destination - in so many ways. I was directed to swing by the first version of the literate foreigner's haven, Shakespeare and Company (this was the second and larger premises that Sylvia Beach operated) at 12 rue de l'Odeon from 1921 until the German occupation led to its closure in 1940. James Joyce basically used it as his office and Beach published Ulysses.

Glenesk Studio: A month not to go in the country
http://gleneskstudio.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-month-not-to-go-in-country.html
Monday, 10 November 2014. A month not to go in the country. I drove to Molong and stopped for a famous gelato, but once taken outside the shop the race was on to consume it before it returned to its original consistency - the salted caramel was very nice. Wellington was the next stop although a Sunday afternoon found it very quiet, apart from at the pool down in Cameron Park by the river. It wasn't as lush as Cook Park, but had some beautiful memorial features. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
