Always a Mom: September 2011
http://aaprich.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
A Journey in Faith, Hope and Cancer. Friday, September 30, 2011. It wasn’t until much later as Justin and Melanie moved out into the world that I began to wonder if that bond is broken by distance or by simply growing into a new life. The separation that came with college definitely got my attention as I wondered if that was it. Did their distance mean that I was less of a mom? Had I lost them forever? Copious tears flowed and I felt like a barren cliché. With the shiny hard wooden pews digging uncomfort...

Always a Mom: March 2012
http://aaprich.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A Journey in Faith, Hope and Cancer. Thursday, March 15, 2012. The week my body tried to run away and take my soul with it. It all started fairly innocently after catching an edge going down a laughably easy slope in Utah. Creating the classic skier’s yard sale, I splattered on the snow—popped-off skis landing several yards away. A few minutes later after being wheeled into surgery the world went blank until waking to find myself being wheeled to the recovery area. Soon, fully awake I once again bega...

Always a Mom: Always a Mom--Part 2
http://aaprich.blogspot.com/2013/08/always-mom-part-2.html
A Journey in Faith, Hope and Cancer. Thursday, August 8, 2013. Always a Mom- Part 2. Relaxing some of my mom vigilance that I probably held onto far longer than necessary, has become more my norm and probably one of the reasons I have written less on this blog recently. But suddenly this spring, all those old feelings came crashing back—a crisis that required protective thoughtful hands-on mom care. Only this time, I found myself needing to mom my own mom. Is life too hard? It all feels so familiar. ...

Always a Mom: July 2012
http://aaprich.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
A Journey in Faith, Hope and Cancer. Friday, July 20, 2012. It Is All The Dogs' Fault. With the hot beautiful weather our boat has served as a virtual bed and breakfast - friends and family aboard cruising to destinations far and near. It has been a full time and yet I have been unsettled, edgy and, I have to admit, not easy to live with. Pinpointing the source of my malaise is not a problem. All I can say is that it is all the dogs’ fault. Waiting for dinner on the boat. I won’t go into the detail...

Always a Mom: May 2011
http://aaprich.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
A Journey in Faith, Hope and Cancer. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. In the meantime we have one person in the family who is totally prepared for the wedding party after the service and I thought I would just share his preparation. This is Jackson- ring bearer extraordinaire- wearing his wedding outfit. If you look carefully on his belt loop, you will see a carabiner which will carry the wedding rings down the aisle. (For those worried mom's, it is a locking carabiner.). Links to this post. Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
