Fiberarts

Sunday, May 18, 2014. This is another of the top down infant sweaters I enjoy making. It's a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern, love the color and spots in it. Nice project for traveling or visiting, except for the increases it is fairly mindless. Here is the Braided Baby Cable sweater, just need to do the sleeves. It took a lot more yarn than I thought, this is two skeins down. Saturday, April 19, 2014. Went through my links, deleted some of the ones that are gone, now. Will keep checking on them, af...

Fiberarts: Fall 2011

http://karensfiberarts.blogspot.com/2011/10/fall-2011.html

Sunday, October 23, 2011. Here are Matthew and Lori at the Ghost Train event. We rode in the cab, thanks to my husband, who volunteers driving the steam locomotive on weekends! This is the purple/pink wool dyed last fall, picked and ready to go to the the fiber mill. The plan is to blend the two together, and see what comes back. More picked wool dyed with the color Cypress. White wool yarn hand painted a few weeks ago. Hope to make some kids socks or hats out of this, very colorful and cheerful. Http:/ ...

Fiberarts: Of all things, a dog sweater?

http://karensfiberarts.blogspot.com/2013/01/of-all-things-dog-sweater.html

Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Of all things, a dog sweater? This is the Biscuits and Bones pattern on Ravelry. First started the large one in the round for Noel, but got confused by the pattern. Ripped it out and started over flat as the directions have you do, and with the xs size to get the hang of the pattern. I am more confident about making the larger one, now and am really enjoying the textures and cables. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). FEEDJIT Live Traffic Feed. 365 Days with the 330 Pound Woman.

Fiberarts: Getting some spinning done, anyways

http://karensfiberarts.blogspot.com/2012/09/getting-some-spinning-done-anyways.html

Sunday, September 23, 2012. Getting some spinning done, anyways. Now that the cool weather is here, it is time to start working with wool again. We had a very nice, warm summer, but fall is here, along with some sleet and lots of rain. This is a Finn/Rambouillet cross roving that I just finished. I plan to make these mittens from it, if the gauge works up right. http:/ dailyskein.wordpress.com/2008/11/25/cruiser/. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). FEEDJIT Live Traffic Feed. Crazy as a Loom. Fiberarts: A new sweater project and another rug

http://karensfiberarts.blogspot.com/2012/11/a-new-sweater-project-and-another-rug.html

Sunday, November 4, 2012. A new sweater project and another rug. This is a sweater for my grandson, size 4, made from Plymouth Encore Colorspun and there isn't a name for the color, I just think of it as Camoflauge. It's a blend of 75 % acrylic,25% wool and machine washable. Matthew picked the style of sweater, he wanted a pullover, and it had to be green. The pattern is from this book. Is the original rug, if case you want to see it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). FEEDJIT Live Traffic Feed. Sewn li...

Knot All That: Well, This Is Fun!

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/05/well-this-is-fun.html

Sunday, May 22, 2011. Well, This Is Fun! A tornado touched down and traveled around a bit at Hwy 394 and 100, and now one is developing at Como Lake, which is right near our house, so we've got sirens and weather reports and all sorts of excitement at the moment. Which is delaying our trip to my folks' house, but providing entertainment that should give us something to talk about over the dinner table (once we actually get there). May 22, 2011 at 4:13 PM. Knot All That: Oops, No Camera...

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/05/oops-no-camera.html

Sunday, May 1, 2011. Oops, No Camera. Mom and I went on our yearly trek to the Minneapolis Institute of Art for their wonderful Art In Bloom. And as is also our tradition, we both forgot to bring our cameras. Poor you, to have missed the wonderfulness! Click on the link above and see some little bit of the previous year's event - don't you wish you could have been there? Well, you can go next year (especially you, Ms. Violet Hoarder. And anyone else who hails from MN), because luckily it's a yearly deal.

Knot All That: Is A Puzzlement

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/08/is-puzzlement.html

Tuesday, August 9, 2011. All my life, I've wanted to serve jury duty. Yes, I know that usually you just sit there forever in the waiting room, doing nothing. And you don't get paid for it (at least, not really). But it's a service to your community and your country, and I've always felt that service was a good thing. Paying back your community for all the things it provides you is something you should do, willingly and with a sense of satisfaction. Now my 21-year-old son has been called. Then if they are...

Knot All That: Irony We Didn't Need

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/07/irony-we-didnt-need.html

Saturday, July 2, 2011. Irony We Didn't Need. Okay, go look at the fine print at the bottom of our last post. Now, a week later:. Sadly to say, this is the least of our problems. But it's not a problem that we needed right now. It's the beginning of July, and I am already SO over this summer. Glad it is summer and not winter-you could be snowed in with no power and the van died.okay, sorry, it is bad right now and for that I am sorry. July 3, 2011 at 8:22 AM. July 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Knot All That: Poor Old Kitty

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/06/poor-old-kitty.html

Wednesday, June 1, 2011. We have had one type and size of cat for 15 years or so: small, feisty, pretty, dignified (for the most part, except when hysterically clumsy) and quite the character. She was well into adulthood when we got her in 1996, and so now she is an elder kitty, deserving of respect and care. She won't let me take a photo of her in this condition - she is currently in a state of High Dudgeon. I can relate to just wanting to be left alone! Poor, old kitty. Has she forgiven you yet? So sad...

Knot All That: Home From The Hills, Part 1

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/06/home-from-hills-part-1.html

Friday, June 17, 2011. Home From The Hills, Part 1. We weren't sure I was going to make it, right up until the day before we left. But finally the hip was painful-but-functional, and at 4am we packed up the van and took off for our little vacation in South Dakota and Wyoming. Wagon, ho! Scott took care of the first major stretch of driving, and then Handsome Son took a nice long stint, leaving his dad the last bit before we pulled into our first destination: the Badlands. Not much, obviously. You also mi...

Knot All That: Shepherd's Harvest

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/05/shepherds-harvest.html

Monday, May 16, 2011. If you are curious about what the Shepherd's Harvest Sheep and Wool Festival. Is like, my friend and boothmate, Denise of Wool Alchemy. Has put up a little slide show of her festival experience. You will see some of her fantastic felted Critters, plus a variety of critters of the live variety that she cooed at over the weekend (yes, even the silkworms! Glad you got to go and enjoy the festival! May 16, 2011 at 8:36 AM. It was great fun, hope we can repeat the experience next year!

http://knotallthat.blogspot.com/2011/07/shes-posting-shes-posting-not.html

Saturday, July 23, 2011. She's Posting, She's Posting Not. I seem to be completely out of control of both my life and my blogs at the moment, so I'm resorting to cross-linking. Sorry about that! But not sorry enough to refrain from doing so. If you want to know what's been going on lately, check out my other blog here. For decoration, I give you this photo. OUT IN THE FIELDS

Sunday, January 11, 2015. I really need to do this. But I don't like to give up on things. Sometimes you just have to let go. Of the things that you promised. You would never let go of. This blog is one. I thought before that I would write on here. And take photos and love to share. But now it has become a part of my life. That I can no longer keep up with-. I have a store. I have a job. I have too much to do. So I have to let this go. The other part of my life that has just ended. But I had to let go.
