This, that and the other . A little about things I love. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Knits for The Girls. Knitting for girls is so much fun, especially for little ones! There's just so much you can knit for them . little pocket books, hats, totes, sweaters, sun dresses, etc. I just finished a sweet little kimono and a beanie hat for Adalei and a darling little hat with a flower for Layla. Layla was very specific with her request for a hat with a purple and pink flower. This, that and the other. A CUP OF JO.

This, that and the other . A little about things I love. Sunday, May 24, 2009. Reading A Good Book. I recently read "The Good Earth" for the third time over the course of the last 20 or so years. The book was on the reader's club book list at our local library so I was inclined to read it again as it is one of my all time favorite books. I thought I would share a little about the "The Good Earth" with you. Have you read The Good Earth? As a review of each chapter. This, that and the other. The window box...

We welcomed sweet Adalei into the world on December 9th and of course, she is beautiful. It has been two weeks since her arrival and all is well. Adalei is so very cuddly and content . Layla is adjusting well to the new addition and to being a big sister. We are so very thankful for God's continued blessings in our lives. 1cup commercial sour cream. 189; cup sugar.

Taddie Bee Knitting: November 2011
http://taddiebeeknitting.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 20, 2011. Healing Is a Choice by Stephen Arterburn. I wasn't able to finish this book. The theology seemed illogical to me and when something strikes me that way, I don't want to spend any more time on it. Arterburn writes that choosing to be healed is a person's choice. I believe that. But then it says that God may choose not to heal someone. I haven't seen precedent for this in Scripture. Healing is a Choice reads like the Gospel According to Human Experience. Taddie Bee Knitting: April 2010
http://taddiebeeknitting.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 24, 2010. A Little Algebra and the Aptly-Named "Swift". I recently purchased three things that have cut my unraveling time to a fraction of what it used to be. Yay! More time for knitting! A ball winder from Knit Picks. 1999) I now unravel sweaters directly onto the ball winder. Infinitely faster. A swift from TheKnitStore. On Etsy. I got the large oak one for only $23.95. It works great. I can make hanks in six different sizes, 34 to 74 inches. Base grams x = base yards * new grams.

Taddie Bee Knitting: October 2010
http://taddiebeeknitting.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 18, 2010. My third grand-girl was born this summer. After hearing my daughter was in labor, I made it from rural North Carolina to downtown Chicago in time to see her take her first breath and to be wrapped in the knits I'd made for her. Her newborn gifts were a combination of pricey and practically free. The reversible cable blanket. Is made from Venezia Worsted. Pricey) but the cashmere vine lace hat. Were made from a 100% cashmere. Sweater that I found for $4.00 at Goodwill. I don̵...

Sunday, December 27, 2009. While observing these vignettes on the strength of the human spirit, I'll think of my friend Rodney Slate. Who actually is a skilled and artistic photographer, and wish he were there to document the images I'm seeing. His photographs tell strong and beautiful stories. Like the one above of his mother's hands. I usually don't laugh at such lapses in cognition (or was it? Oh, good. Let's wrap it up for her." I can't begin to describe all the love in that, but Rodney could...This ...

Sunday, July 12, 2009. God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh. Even though I think some "Christian princess" products for little girls are missing the mark, I like this little devotional Bible. It contains about 80 Bible stories, with devotional material designed for ages 4-7. The material is designed for a mom to either read to her daughter and sometimes for them to perform an activity together. Http:/ brb.thomasnelson.com/. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Links to this post. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Farm Fresh Southern Cooking by Tammy Algood. The two things about this cookbook that I'm not fond of: It's use of ingredients I don't use much anymore- like biscuit mix, canned soup, and processed sugar. (They're not in every recipe of course.) The book also has quite a menagerie of ham, pork, shrimp, lobster, catfish, and crayfish recipes which I don't use (typically) and wasn't expecting in a "Straight from the Garden" recipe book. Taddie Bee Knitting: June 2010
http://taddiebeeknitting.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 19, 2010. In Memory: An Unconquerable Soul. I've been re-reading one of my favorite devotional books, "The Manhood of the Master". By Harry Emerson Fosdick. This book was printed in 1913 and belonged to my dad (and maybe my granddad). The author examines the gospel stories and especially the words in red to give a tremendously fresh interpretation of what a radiantly overflowing personality Jesus must have been. The section on Jesus' joy reminds me of my dad. Here's an excerpt:. The men wh...

Tuesday, September 29, 2009. A Heart Wide Open. Through the miracle that is Facebook, I recently connected with my favorite friend from back in the day- Karen Wiley Slate. We've been having a great time together after our ah-hem-cough-cough.- ty year hiatus. There are many things I love about Karen, but this one tops the list: She lives with her heart wide open and comes right out and says things, beautiful things like . . . You are a dear friend. It is a blessing that God brought us together again.

Strive for Change | Proposal to Improve Hit & Run Legislation
Proposal to Improve Hit and Run Legislation. The Price of Living is Dying. The Price of Living is Dying. I am personally an optimist but have recently been faced with an unfortunate amount of sadness. My mother was a runner since the age of 13. Growing up, I had watched her train for marathons; she was an amazing athlete in my eyes. Her passion was running. It was such an inspiration to watch and I’d admire and hope to be like her someday. Fast Forward to June 23. It is time to make a change. I have ...
