Sight seeing | Katie in Detroit
https://katieindetroit.wordpress.com/2009/09/04/sight-seeing
September 4, 2009 at 2:43 am · Filed under Uncategorized. It seems like we can’t go anywhere this week without someone telling us how we. Go to jazz fest. We made it out to Eastern Market. The other day, as well. Our neighbor Frank took us on a tour, but I don’t know what we would have done on our own–after he left us, we nearly got lost looking for honey. But one of my favorite things so far has been the Heidelberg Project. Rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to Sight seeing" class="permalink" Permalink.

August 26, 2009 at 11:11 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. It’s been gray and and cold and rainy all day today. The low temperature Monday is in the 40s. Last weekend, I wore my winter coat–my Florida winter coat, not my Detroit winter coat. But still. I thought it would at least be October or November before the temperature started dropping. 8220;Oh, Orlaaaaaando! 8221; they chuckle. “I guess you’ll have a bit of a surprise when winter gets here! Or you could get winter depression and start going crazy fr...

August 18, 2009 at 10:11 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. One of our super-friendly neighbors invited us to dinner the other night along with some of her friends and two Mormon missionaries from down the street. Of course, the most exciting part of the night was our introduction to bumpy cake. 8211;a Detroit delicacy. But we were also given a taste of how luxurious our year of simple living really is. Archive for September, 2009. Finally a blog post…finally some pictures! September 26, 2009 at 7:40 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. When we started out this year, I had no idea what the approved Mercy Volunteer Corps definition of “simple living” might be. Could I bring my laptop, my cell phone? All of my clothes? In all this questioning, my digital camera got left at home. But after a long, film-developing adventure, I’ve finally got some pictures of where I’m staying:. I’m just as excited as I thought I...

Beltway to Mini Beltway. Life experiences. Let's go. As you complete must-sees, don’t forget must-eats. The Stretch →. April 20, 2009. Since the day I stepped into the Watergate office of CongressDaily. Back in early February, I’ve been steadily chipping away at a monster of a project: “Life After Congress: The Members’ View.”. Or at least that’s what the top dogs decided to call the story yesterday, when it was finally published. On to the next one! But before that, here’s an excerpt). Although a batch ...

Somewhere between my side-arm hug with Katie Couric and hiking the ancient city of Petra, I realized I haven’t been very attentive to this blog. It’s upsetting that it happened, really. This post serves to tell you that (aged news? Catch-up information is on the way. Then I flew 12 hours to Jordan. Oh, Jordan. More later. And soon. It is a beach town, after all. Fill in your...

I just overheard my boss giving familiar first-day instructions to a new summer intern. 8220;Make the circle around the House and Senate office buildings, and explore the Capitol a little bit,” he explained. Wasn’t it just yesterday I wrote a blog post about my own experiences upon checking in for duty and running around to get my press credentials? But now — Voila! 8212; it’s a possibility.
