It was a great learning opportunity for me to run most of the class. I implemented many of the classroom management strategies that i have learned so far. The class was very well behaved.which helped a lot. I also had the opportunity. And really have have with the book. Sometimes its hard to get children in...

Tina's Talk: Student's Writing (2-14-08)
http://tinastalk-tina.blogspot.com/2008/02/student.html
Thursday, February 14, 2008. Over the past two weeks I have learned many new techniques on how to look at children's writing. Not only the convention aspect of writing, but the ideas of organization, word and sentence variety, and fluency. I found that looking into student's work with more detail allows us as teachers to accomdate everyone's needs. Great connection to what we learned in class and let me know how applying what you have learned in class works for your experience at your school on tuesday.

For my next Tuesday I have to plan a lesson to help teach the students of my third grade class how to use a thesaurus. I am looking for any ideas as to how to make this less confusing. For students. I have already written something that the students will edit and underlined the words that I would like them to look up in the thesaurus. Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Learning how t...

Thursday, March 13, 2008. Tuesday was quite a day! Most of this went well. Except for the fact that my one hour time slot was slashed down to thirty minutes! How do you squeeze anything into thirty minutes? Especially everything I just described! I panicked and immediately became stressed out! First I have to say that I loved your lesson as a whole, and I can tell that you must have spent a lot of time planning and preparing your lesson. I especially loved your initiation, what a great idea! I absolutely...

Thursday, February 14, 2008. In our Language Arts course, we have been discussing writing characteristics and written language development. Saturday, March 8, 2008. Tonight was a very interesting night for me! We were able to share some great ideas with one another - such as classroom management, seating arrangements, and classroom libraries. For student teaching and when I have my future classroom, I will certainly collaborate with friends that are already teaching! Have you had the opportunity to talk with others that are already in the field? Have you had the opportunity to talk with others that are already in the field? Not being an expe...

One Blog, Two Blog, Red Blog, Blue Blog: Science Lesson
http://taylorsliteracycorner.blogspot.com/2008/04/science-lesson.html
Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Today, I did a science lesson with the fourth-graders about the reflection and absorption of light. This lesson was the first of the light unit and I don't think the lesson have could have much better! For the lesson, I divided the class into five groups and assigned each group member a role (recorder, reporter, scientist, and group leader). When creating the groups ahead of time, I decided to mix up the students a bit more than normal. It sounds like the lesson went really well!
