Kayaking the 'Lang Way Roon'. An 800km trip round he Northern Coasts of Scotland completing the circuit through the Caledonian Canal. Friday, 5 June 2009. There was more rain during the night and we awoke early to temperature at 4 deg. A far cry from Mondays heatwave. The only upside we could see was that it was too cold for the midgees to make an appearance. We were on the water by 7.30am in order to make the best of the tide and conscious that the wind was due to pick up later in the day.

Kayaking the 'Lang Way Roon'. An 800km trip round he Northern Coasts of Scotland completing the circuit through the Caledonian Canal. Saturday, 23 May 2009. Woken early by the intermitent showers pounding off the tent. Departed Knoydart at 08.20hrs in a SE F3-4 with frequent showers. By 1030 we had reached the Sandaig Isles, the wind had dropped to a whisper but the rain had set in good and proper. Stopped for lunch just North of the ferry as the rain reached monsoon status. A gentle rain began to fall.

Caledonia is about a journey by sea kayak around the roof of. Camping out each evening and moving on the next day whenever the weather permits. Starting from Morar on the evening of 22nd May 2009 we kayaked from there to Inverness via the roof of. Then down the Caledonian Canal to. And back around the Poi. Nt of Ardnamurchan to Morar.
