HOW TO FIND US. If you are new to Scilly and need to make travel or accommodation arrangements, we recommend a visit to http:/ www,simplyscilly.co.uk. The local tourist information office website. If you can't find what you need, please mail us and we will help if we can! On foot from town, take the path that leaves the main road by the Porth Mellon sailing centre. Double back when you reach the open area in front of Porth Thomas. The kayak shed is about 50 metres away on the right.

Prices: Per Day /Week. General Purpose £20/£125 - Sea Kayak £35/£200 - Double Sea Kayaks £55/£400 (Prijon Excursion). Hire charges include paddles and buoyancy aids. Spray decks are provided for sea kayaks. We ask for a £100 deposit for each boat. Kayaks must be collected from and returned to Porth Thomas on St. Marys unless other arrangements have been made. We can deliver to and collect from other islands at extra cost. Please call Murray on 01720 422641 for more information or to hire a kayak.

There is a choice of trips to suit all, ranging from a 2 hour coastal paddle to a 6 hour seal watching excursion. Our stable double kayak is ideal for couples where skills might vary, although some previous experience is needed. Single sea kayaks are available for those with more paddling time behind them. A reasonable level of fitness is needed, although we never aim to break any speed records! Excursions cost from 20 to 60 per person.

We enjoyed a great paddle last week with Quorn Activity Club on the River Soar, a very nice loop with only a couple of portage. Our first longish trip in an open canoe. It was very pleasant and Beryl loved it, such a warm evening, beautiful landscape and great people. Also, getting used to a village way of life.
