Visual rhetoric / graph design / R. First steps towards reproducible research. May 10, 2015. Credibility in computational science. Scientific credibility, especially in computation, turns largely on the success or failure of attempts to reproduce findings. Reproducibility has become a topic of discussion in many disciplines because, as Roger Peng says, “for every ‘X’ we now have ‘Computational X'” (Peng 2013). Kenneth Reinhart and Carmen Rogoff. Anil Potti, formerly of Duke University. We obtain comments...

Visual rhetoric / graph design / R. Using Rmd to write about using Rmd. July 23, 2015. In reproducing Jenny Bryan’s article. On including verbatim R chunks in R Markdown (Rmd) scripts, I initially forgot John Gruber’s markdown basics. For verbatim code output:. To specify an entire block of pre-formatted code, indent every line of the block by 4 spaces or 1 tab. Just like with code spans, &, , and characters will be escaped automatically. Here I modify just one of them, the suggestion from Karl Broman.
