Because now, instead of promenading along the gilded streets of Monaco, we’re off to Dijon, where the famous mustard originates, the wine flows more freely than water and the tourists get sloshed every day (because they can! Countryside near Dijon, France and beautiful vineyards (or as Laura would say, wine fields! Me and my bike! My Lauras, just before...

An American in Caen. Thursday, Jun 17 2010. And American-French Culture Crossover. And Life at the University. And Steps of Faith. I have agonized over how to begin the end of this adventure. I have found that I have the same emotional ties over writing this blog in the same way as I would have with a book I don’t want to end. But like all good things, it must end, and as Fyodor Dostoevsky says in The Brothers Karamazov, “To a new life, new places, and no looking back! Thank you to Laura Trude and Laura ...

An American in Caen. Tuesday, Jun 15 2010. And Life at the University. And Steps of Faith. While I sat in my bare little dorm room in Caen, I came to realize that almost my entire existence while overseas was dominated by numbers. Now that the experience is over, I thought I would share them with you so you can enjoy them too. 7,000- Number of grams of Nutella Hazelnut Spread purchased and consumed. 5- Number of countries visited. 240- Number of hours spent in a classroom. 17- Number of cards from the USA.

An American in Caen. Monday, Jun 14 2010. There are few engineering feats I consider more impressive than the subway system in Paris. To people who have never taken a subway, it would seem like the epitome of scary: riding a very rapidly moving transport medium dozens of feet underground, pressing yourself uncomfortably close to complete strangers who do not share your language. But to those of us who have become veterans of the métro in Paris, it’s. Un morceau de gateau. Piece of cake)… sort of. The doo...

Go confidently in the directions of your dreams. Oh, we’re halfway there. May 22, 2013. Have you ever thought to yourself, “why is this happening to me. So as I keep progressing in adulthood, I have no doubt that everything I do and everybody I meet isn’t just coincidental–it’s a building block for my future. 2 When you start gettin...

Sail across the Pacific Ocean…. All my bags are packed and I’m ready…. July 9, 2013. So yes my bags are all packed, and hopefully not heavier than allowed. Kelli In Color
Monday, June 2, 2014. What's new at KIC? Well, since you asked, here’s a brief update. I made a hat! This project was loads of fun and I will likely replicate it in different colors with other embellishments. The fused glass flower is the product of a class taken at a local glass studio. The class was chosen by a 14-year-old artist friend who could only attend in the company of an adult. After agreeing to go I was wondering what am I going to do with a fused glass flower? Put it in a mosaic, of course.
