My dress and his suit were to remain a secret from the guests until the ceremony. The next day, my best friend Robyn arrived and we all visited The Getty Villa. Ken's Story of Our Shoes. Cara decided early in our wedding planning that we would be barefoot for our wedding ceremony in my sister's backyard. We both felt it would be appropriate for a California wedding and because if Cara wore heels they would sink into the grass. My mind immediately imagined what she d say next . That she wanted to cancel or postpone the wedding. My heart stopped. Then she said, I think we should wear shoes. I was so relieved!

We looked at many options for our wedding announcements, but knew fairly quickly that we wanted something special and unique. We loved the "letter press" invitations we saw and tried to locate a local letter press printer. Eventually we found Casey McGarr. And his home-based printing business, Inky Lips Press. Cara did the layout and this is what Casey printed for us on his antique Heidelberg press:.

I don t remember anything immediately after, as my brain worked to process the entire moment and the meaning of his posture and his words, but fairly quickly I said, yes! Then shouted and jumped up and down! I had never been so sure of an answer in all my life! I soon remembered Ken was still kneeling, so I met him on the ground to hug him! He waited patiently for me to pause, because there was more to share.
