Journey through ''Motherland''. January 10, 2017. January 8, 2017. I know we’re 10 days into the new year, but you always have to say ‘Happy New Year’ whenever you meet someone that you haven’t seen since the festive season. So “Happy New Year friends! I’m excited about 2017 because i) I have vowed to be more consistent in blogging (so help me God! Ii) It’s a chance to learn from past mistakes and grow into great beginnings iii) I just have a feeling that it will be a GREAT year! See you next week! You a...
It’s getting hot in here! – Kenyan Mama Tales

Journey through ''Motherland''. It’s getting hot in here! March 29, 2016. March 29, 2016. Nairobi weather has become unbearable lately! The heat is, in my opinion, the worst we’ve ever experienced. Nairobians call it the ‘equinox’. It’s so bad that I’d rather stay indoors than go out. If I have to be out, I’d rather be swimming than baking in the dry heat. Courtesy of CCTV Africa. Here are a few tips for mums when it comes to taking care of your babies or toddlers in this heat:. Try your best to keep you...

Journey through ''Motherland''. Her first movie experience. December 20, 2016. December 19, 2016. My husband and I are movie buffs. Most of our date nights include going to the movies. But Zara (our 3-year old daughter) has never been to a movie theatre. We've always said we'll take her when she turns 5 since she has a short attention span - trust me, we've seen it when we … Continue reading Her first movie experience. Raising a girl with natural hair – Kenyan Mama Tales

Journey through ''Motherland''. Raising a girl with natural hair. October 28, 2016. October 28, 2016. My daughter’s hair has been the centre of attention this week, following new photos that I posted on my Facebook profile. Here I am thinking how people would ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ at my beautiful bump pictures. Yet they chose to ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ at her hair! No, I’m not being jealous *folds hands and walks away*. Journey through ''Motherland''. Differences between my 1st and 2nd pregnancy. August 24, 2016. September 16, 2016. My sincere apologies. It’s been months since I blogged. To be honest, I haven’t had the energy/psyche to document my thoughts. That explains the title of this post 😀. You could take this as an announcement – yes, I’m going to be a mother of two. It’s exciting isn’t it? Let me get straight to it. The first one was new and exciting! It is well – never that serious! I had nasty morning sicknes...

Afraid to be Female | Karimi Kagwe
https://karimikagwe.wordpress.com/2016/10/03/afraid-to-be-female
Afraid to be Female. There are many many stories I could write about today , experiences that made me wish I was a man. Why am I telling you all these stories? My soul was bleeding by the time I went to bed last night. The saddest part to this whole story, majority of the stone throwers and the nasty insults towards this lady came from women. Boys will be boys.Let’s excuse their bad behavior. After all that is how they were created. That is the message we hear growing up. It was filed under Uncategorized.
History | Karimi Kagwe
https://karimikagwe.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/history
Well, I do. About two weeks later after i had been discharged I remembered to ask my dad for the telephone number . I dialled it. The number didn’t exist. It didn’t ring, it wasn’t engaged,it didn’t exist. Was it a coincidence that Debbie was a nurse and therefore knew what to do to take care of me to ensure that I was taken care of and even prevented me from further injury as I was being bundled into the security vehicle after the accident? For he will command his angels concerning you. Liked by 1 person.

Back to the basics. Been meaning to write this for a while now . I feel like the past few years represent a huge metamorphosis for me. Have you ever had that nagging feeling like you didn’t belong? Like you thought differently from everyone else. I’ve spent a lot of my adult life convincing my brain to go along with the crowd even though everything in me screamed , go the other way. You see life is simple. We are born, we live and then we die. God provides my daily guidance on what to do. And...Later tod...

We made it | Karimi Kagwe
https://karimikagwe.wordpress.com/2017/01/12/we-made-it
First post of the year. I feel truly blessed to be alive to see another year come to be. I am not one for making New year resolutions because if anything 2016 taught me , it is that resolving to get through each day is enough. After all tomorrow is not promised, we only have today . Pray tell, what does that even mean? If you do not already know, Taji is a fully fledged daddy’s girl. She says mama maybe twice a week, and Dada 50 million times a day. The injustice! Thank God we made it. Stay at home mum.
