Kernow Klimber: January 2010
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 January 2010. Many apologies, but I know its been a while since my last post. I had to dash up to Cumbria to give lectures to the pupils of Sedbergh School before heading back to Cornwall to work with students from Duchy College. Last week I spent 5 days instructing a couple of guys in preparation for their SPA Training. Wasn't it cold last week? Saturday, 16 January 2010. Found - a semi dry crag in Wales. Friday, 15 January 2010. Monday, 11 January 2010. Saturday, 9 January 2010. Well I manag...

Kernow Klimber: I have arrived in Scotland, but where is the winter? 23rd Nov
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2011/12/i-have-arrived-in-scotland-but-where-is.html
Friday, 16 December 2011. I have arrived in Scotland, but where is the winter? Its great to be back up North. I have been busy getting settled in at a mates house and hunting for work. I can't believe how warm it is. Not even a hint of a snowflake. It was 2 foot deep in Aviemore last year. What a contrast! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The idea of my blog is to keep people informed of what I have been up to, who's been with me and to motivate you all to get your a#*e into gear and get out there!

Kernow Klimber: April 2010
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 27 April 2010. Just had a fab day out surfing around Newquay. After a 2 week flat spell, it was great to see the waves again. Even the sun has been shining. Met up with a mate this morning and surfed 2 foot Whipsiderry. Then Watergate for high tide this afternoon. It was just like. A summers day, but without the crowds and ticker neoprene! Kayaking tomorrow on the South Coast. Friday, 23 April 2010. Lovely, lovely St Loy. Tuesday, 20 April 2010. The climbs were short, steep but on fabulous holds...

Kernow Klimber: October
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2011/12/october.html
Wednesday, 14 December 2011. A busy month for me, work-wise. I had two great weeks at the beginning of the month working for EBO Adventure,. And together, we visited many of our favourite local crags to give the guys plenty of opportunity to learn and practise their climbing/belaying/ropework skills. Fortunately the weather was good (although the Omanis kept saying how cold it was) and we discovered that Crantock Bakeries. Despite not having done many of the activities, the troops were full of enthusiasm...

Kernow Klimber: May 2010
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 11 May 2010. BMC International Sea Cliff Climbing Meet Day 2. BMC International Sea Cliff Meet Day 1. We then headed over to Bosigran for the afternoon/evening and climbed Thin Wall Special and Bow Wall as the sun was setting. This has been the most extensive amount of hard climbing I have done in 10 years. 6 routes, 9 'E' points and sore arms! Everyone (60 climbers in all) said that it had been a fab day, with many of Cornwall's classic routes being done, from Diffs to E6. Bring on tomorrow.

Kernow Klimber: August
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2011/12/august.html
Friday, 9 December 2011. August - lots of climbing with lots of different people in lots of different places! All good clean fun! I also led the whole of Beowulf (E2) at Bosigran, which has been on my 'hit list' for a long time. Great climbing, on perfect rock, with just about enough gear. That said, it's best to have a steady head for the middle pitch! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Association of Mountaineering Instructors Homepage. Kernow Klimber: June 2011
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Monday, 13 June 2011. Nipped out in the sunshine this evening to try and find some of the climbs up at Butterhole, near Padstow. I've been searching for this crag, on and off, for a couple of years and tonight I hit the jackpot! A seam of pillow lava, just southwest of the entrance to the Camel Estuary sports some fab looking lines and some solid rock (almost unheard of in this part of Cornwall)! As time was getting on, I soloed up 'Little Robert', an absolutely brilliant VS, worth of 2 stars, at least!

Kernow Klimber: November
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2011/12/november.html
Friday, 16 December 2011. Just a few days working for Duchy College, a couple of days surfing, then it's off to Scotland I go! The plan is to spend the winter reinforcing my knowledge and expanding my experience of winter mountaineering so that I will sail through my Winter Mountain Leader assessment at the end of March! I'm looking forward to some winter climbing too, and have dusted down my ice axes and crampons, once I found them! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Kernow Klimber: March 2010
http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 March 2010. It was very cold in Cornwall today. In fact the weather put paid to kayaking plans today. Strong westerlies, coupled with spring tides meant a day checking climbing equipment. I'm off to the Lake District next week with the Air Cadets. Lets hope the weather improves! Wednesday, 3 March 2010. ML Training - Day 3. This run of dry, cold weather is unbelievable! When will it end? Tuesday, 2 March 2010. ML Training - Day 2. Yeap, its another stunning day in Snowdonia! Conditions in Wal...

http://kernowklimber.blogspot.com/2011/12/september.html
Saturday, 10 December 2011. More climbing this month and not just in Cornwall! Very pleasant. There was some great surf at the end of the month and I had a couple of fab sessions at Llangennith (as well as some great climbing). I had some superb company too. Special mention must go to Simon, Emma and Sue (you know who you are). All great people and great company. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
