Halcyon Handmade: For a lil' drooler
http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2009/04/for-lil-drooler.html
April 5, 2009. For a lil' drooler. My cousin and his partner just had a baby so, eager to put my new sewing machine to use, I made this . I found the free pattern download. Over at Chickpea Sewing Studio. I love how Chickpea's bib is personalised with printable fabric. Must get me some of that. It was hard to keep the seam allowance even with the terry cloth because it is thick and the edges fray making it hard to see the seam guide on the machine. April 10, 2009 at 4:32 PM. Halcyon Handmade: December 2009
http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
December 20, 2009. Have a Sweet Christmas. My sister and I had a Christmas baking day and it was exhausting but fruitful. We made and iced gingerbread and tried our hand at Macedonian zelnik. We have quite a way to go to master this pastry, which my baba has baked to perfection ever since I can remember. The quickest and easiest thing we made was this peppermint bark. If you need to whip up some last minute gifts, give this fesitve treat a try. So delicious. Have a very merry Christmas! Links to this post.

Halcyon Handmade: January 2010
http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
January 25, 2010. At the last meeting of the Around the Bay Knitting Guild, we had a special guest speaker talk to us about an inspiring enterprise. Monika told us about Cambodia Knits, which she started last year with the goal of providing an employment alternative to marginalized communities. You can read all about Cambodia Knits here. It's an interesting business model that teaches people how to knit, and then allows them to work from home at their own pace. Links to this post. January 13, 2010. Each ...

Halcyon Handmade: Still waiting......
http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2011/04/still-waiting.html
April 13, 2011. Well, it appears that this baby is taking its sweet time in arriving. The due date has come and gone and I'm still sitting here wondering when it's going to happen. Hopefully soon! I've made all sorts of things while waiting, including a few more things for the baby. This pillow will sit on a chair in the baby's room. I made a basic envelope back pillow following instructions in The Sewing Bible. Both are Sublime Stitching. The nursery is ready, all we need now is a baby! Sew, Mama, Sew!

March 31, 2010. Wow, it's been a month since I've had something to blog about. I did finish a small sewing project recently, I just have to get around to photographing it. Mostly I've been busy knitting two warm weather sweaters for myself, which I'll hopefully finish before it's too hot to wear them! One is done and now I just have to find the right buttons to go with it; the other is in the works. I just had to write a little post to share the most. Chocolate Easter Surprise Eggs. Sew, Mama, Sew!

Halcyon Handmade: November 2009
http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
November 29, 2009. It's December 1st and I have a new pair of mittens, reminiscent of candy canes, to help celebrate the holiday season. The pattern is Herringbone Mittens. By Elli Stubenrauch (ravelry link here. I used Cascade 220 for mitts that could stand up to some wear and tear. The stranded colourwork means the resulting fabric is double thick so these should be nice and warm. Here's hoping for a white Christmas. Links to this post. November 13, 2009. I finished my Mystery Socks. My husband is a pe...

http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2010/02/with-beautiful-warm-sunny-weather-weve.html
February 28, 2010. With the beautiful, warm, sunny weather we've been experiencing lately, spring doesn't feel far off at all. I can't wait for spring ephemerals to carpet the forest floors and spring bulbs to break through the ground in gardens. In the meantime, I'll have to make do with my new bright and cheery pincushion. It's the Wildflower Pincushion. By Anna Maria Horner. I used some scraps of an Anna Maria Horner Good Folks bundle. If you're interested, the buttons. March 11, 2010 at 11:28 AM.

Halcyon Handmade: April 2010
http://halcyonhandmade.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
April 3, 2010. I recently borrowed Sew Darn Cute. By Jenny Ryan from the library. I chose two projects from the book to make, the needle pouch below, and another currently *top secret* project. In the book, the needle pouch is called a crochet hook cozy but since I don't crochet I'm using it to store and tote around my double-pointed needles. By, not surprisingly, I heart linen. I absolutely love the way my linen needle pouch turned out! She makes so many cute projects and has some great tutorials too.
