What Would Nancy Drew Wear?: February 2015
http://vintageorbust.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
WIP: 1960's Simplicity 8788. What I've been working on since the New Year, to get a break from sewing constant Lolas, is a project that is a home run in several of my sewing goals this year. It was a long standing WIP, a stashbust and it counts for Vintage Pledge. Simplicity 8788 is a pattern I'd made up twice before. Once in a flamingo print flannel. And again in a beige sparkle linen. Sadly I have no more of this crazy sheeting to make properly matching trousers. Links to this post. Oh wait, you don't ...

But it can't be from Dolly Clackett. She gave me an Easter egg! Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Have you seen 'Pretty Woman'? It's about a prostitute called Richard Gere. Well lads, what's the craic? She's ninety here, as usual. You know I live a wild life. I was feeling well enough by then to eat some noodles, and to be a Dalek:. Dress, so that's what I made:. I gave her all the leftover fabric so that she could make a skirt for her daughter if she wanted one. I made a dress out of it. When I just really felt l...

But it can't be from Dolly Clackett. She gave me an Easter egg! Sunday, August 02, 2015. All the professional actors write their lines on each other's clothes. The longer the play, the bigger the shirt! How's Sunday treating everyone? I hope that it won't become a big problem, but I have let a trusted colleague know how I've been feeling and she's been watching it out for it too. Anyway. I'm on holiday now. Yay! Again - I think it will look better from the back with a little bit more shaping around the a...

Polka Dot Overload | Sewing, knitting & vintage projects, tips, tutorials and cartoons!: The Me-Made Garment Graveyard
http://www.polkadotoverload.com/2015/05/the-me-made-garment-graveyard.html
Favorite Products and Services. Saturday, May 9, 2015. The Me-Made Garment Graveyard. I still miss my colorblocked wool jersey skirt (eaten by evil moths in 2013). Baby D isn't feeling like going to sleep tonight so Mommy can sew something new for a Mother's Day outing tomorrow. Some of these I am sad about, and to some I say: good riddance! Goodbye wide-legged blue corduroy Vogue trousers (you didn't hit at the waist properly and my husband always hated you):. Oooh, baby is sleeping now! 8212; I don't k...

Sewelle: November 2015
http://sewelle-noelle.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 29, 2015. Last week saw my last day of work for the year. I don't go back until February! I seriously love my job as a flute teacher- it's fun, rewarding, and allows me to spend heaps of time with my children. My kids go to a public school so they still have two more weeks until their holidays, so I've been using my time to sew Christmas gifts. I also made her a cute little pair of shorts using this adorable print I found on EBay. I think it's Timeless Treasures. The pattern is B...It's ...

Sewelle: Red wool 1960s outfit
http://sewelle-noelle.blogspot.com/2016/08/red-wool-1960s-outfit.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Red wool 1960s outfit. Did anyone catch Season 4 of The Great British Sewing Bee? I downloaded it and watched in on my iPad and fell in love with Jade's little cropped jacket in the 60s Week pattern challenge. I discovered this was the pattern she used:. I couldn't find the pattern for sale anywhere, so searched eBay for something similar. I had no luck at all! It is fully lined to the edges, and therefore is completely reversible. The arms are pulling up a bit due to the ...

But it can't be from Dolly Clackett. She gave me an Easter egg! Monday, July 06, 2015. There’s something missing, something wrong. It’s like a pretty girl with short hair. Happy Monday my loves! The pattern in question is the Sew Over It vintage shirt-dress. Which I bought last week. While I was buying the pattern in their online store, I also strayed over to their fabrics section and bought a couple of metres of their anchor print chambray. Last year and I know how knowledgable and thorough they are and...

SewLindyLou: Pattern Friday–an occasional series
http://sewlindylou.blogspot.com/2015/07/pattern-fridayan-occasional-series.html
Friday, 10 July 2015. Pattern Friday–an occasional series. As you know, I have been collecting vintage dressmaking patterns and thought I would highlight one or two of my favourites in an occasional series. First is the ‘Greet the Spring’ dress, a 1950s/60sdress pattern produced by Woman’s Realm. Imagine my delight when checking this pattern for completeness that I came across the original magazine article about this dress! The article says that it has been made from the ‘new drip-dry cotton’...Along wit...
