Out Of the Woods': May 2009
http://mattandalisonw.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Out Of the Woods'. Thursday, May 07, 2009. Well, on Monday May 4th Grandma had her knee replaced. The doctor said the surgery went well and she now has a straight leg. We went to visit her in the hospital, so that after our chaos the hospital quiet would seem so much nicer. Grandma showed us the cool machine that was moving her knee for her. The kids didn't quite know what to think. I think it took twelve tries to get this picture and have everyone hold still. A whole lot of movement in a tiny room.

Out Of the Woods': April 2009
http://mattandalisonw.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Out Of the Woods'. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. So, the semester wound down and we needed a get-away. So, of course we headed south. The greatest hostess, Kate, was invaded by our clan and Grandma Miller. This ominous mountain in the background in the cinder cone we decided to hike. I love the red, white, and black rock down there and the contrasts in the scenery. This is us: dancing on a volcano! Then there was kite flying, and kite crashing :). Let the chaos begin . . . Good times had by young and old!

Out Of the Woods': January 2009
http://mattandalisonw.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Out Of the Woods'. Saturday, January 31, 2009. Eliza is six months old! Eliza is six months old today! It is really somewhat hard to believe. Earlier this month she started reaching for things that we were eating or drinking. I loved this picture with her dad. Earlier this week we tried out rice cereal for the first time. She was a real trooper and was somewhat determined to hold the spoon herself. So I had to do an entry today, or else all of January would have escaped me! Friday, January 16, 2009.

http://mattandalisonw.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Out Of the Woods'. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. California Trip: Day one, July 28th. We had been planning for a couple of years to go to California with the whole Woods clan. We thought it would be a fun way to celebrate Matt graduating from BYU. When we planned it, we didn't know that Matt would have to start his graduate program in Architecture in May. This meant that his semester was ending the week we had planned the trip. Everyone was coming from all their various states. Self-portraits. . . Others pl...

Out Of the Woods'. Friday, January 08, 2010. Start the New Year off with a bang. Or a snip-. No- we are not talking about a New Year's Eve party. We are talking about Ashley. She got the scissors out of the drawer and was cutting some paper. Then, she moved on. When I asked her why she did it, she said she just wanted to 'cut off her ponies'. Of course, that night when her Aunt Darla asked her why she said, "I just wanted to hear my mom scream.". Friday, January 01, 2010. December 31st to 2010! Eliza was...

Out Of the Woods': December 2008
http://mattandalisonw.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Out Of the Woods'. Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Our December traditions have to include a trip up the canyon to see the lights. The kids love the lights (and mom and dad do too). Then of course there is the annual "wearing of the Christmas stocking" and the "dressing up like Rudolph- including taping a red nose on- and making your sister be Santa pulled in the sleigh". OK, so maybe those last two aren't exactly yearly traditions. . . but who knows, they may be. Tuesday, December 02, 2008. Edit: I found ...

Out Of the Woods'. Friday, February 13, 2009. Tea parties, cute baby, and science fair, oh my. The big tea party event. The girls (mainly Marsha Kate) decided they wanted to have a tea party. So out came the easy bake oven. The girls made cookies, and faces. The menu consisted of easy bake cookies (with birthday candles), oranges and blueberries, and juice. Marsha Kate made place-holders for everyone. Matt consented to come to the tea party because, well. . . cookies. Eliza moved on to green vegetables.

Out Of the Woods': August 2010
http://mattandalisonw.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Out Of the Woods'. Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Matt's senior project was with the Capstone program at BYU. They had him (the only industrial design student) with mechanical engineers and assigned them a project. Their year long project was to design a block press for building a "better brick" to improve housing in Kenya. They were able to do an amazing job. Their project was all over the news and is going to be presented in Brazil at an Earth Architecture convention. Happy 11 years old (March 17th)! Februa...
