emy in the world: August 2014
http://emyintheworld.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 21, 2014. Green onions can be regenerated quickly and easily. Just put the bulbs in a jar with water up to the light green part of the stem. Place in a decently sunny spot (ours is on our east-facing kitchen window sill), and switch out the water every few days. That's it! PS - I came across this tip in a recent issue of Vegetarian Times. The article includes a few other bits of "kitchen magic" I have yet to try.). Labels: everyday bits and pieces. Wednesday, August 13, 2014. It's easy t...

emy in the world: stahhhhp already!
http://emyintheworld.blogspot.com/2015/02/stahhhhp-already.html
Thursday, February 5, 2015. WE ARE OVER YOU, SNOW! Actually, Caleb pretty much loves it. He does not, however, appreciate being propped in snow banks by yours truly in order to take staged photos. I was attempting to replicate a similar pic from last year's snowpocalypse. Thankfully this winter at least took its time coming. And we've had some reasonable temps and blue skies in between all the snow, so there's that. Labels: everyday bits and pieces. Read more about me here. 30 in 30 challenge.

emy in the world: August 2015
http://emyintheworld.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. It's been awhile, hey? A few weeks into my blogging hiatus. Caleb helpfully bumped my arm while I was holding a cup of coffee.directly over my laptop keyboard. It did not end well. At the time, I decided it was kind of the perfect turn of events: No internet for Lent? Well, since I now had no computer, this would be no problem! I started setting aside a little money to buy a new one after Easter and didn't worry too much about it. No, that's not taco belly. And I want to examin...

emy in the world: September 2014
http://emyintheworld.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. Thoughts on a sunday. In the same way that I didn't want anyone to know I was an American when I first moved to Germany (where "F*CK THE U$A" was regularly spray painted on the side of Tuebingen's German-American Institute), I'm not particularly forward with my faith. But in the back of my head I keep hearing one of my former Sunday school students singing, "Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified! Today I decided to listen. The light (or exist as the light! People warn ...

emy in the world: desert days (lent, i'm ready for you)
http://emyintheworld.blogspot.com/2015/02/desert-days-lent-im-ready-for-you.html
Thursday, February 12, 2015. Desert days (lent, i'm ready for you). But Jesus would withdraw to deserted places to pray.". Lent is coming, and I have been dreading it. I've been diving into the questions so often and so deeply these days that I forget to come up for air. For the past few weeks I've just felt tired. Of people, of religion, of God. Over it, angry at it, and yet still in hot pursuit of. Well, something. I need to turn it off. I'm giving up the internet for Lent. I mean, pretty much. This is...

emy in the world: December 2014
http://emyintheworld.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. There are two ways to get enough. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.". I've been sitting on a version of this post for almost a week now, waiting for the words to come more easily and eloquently. Maybe I'm still feeling the holiday fog, but I'm tired of waiting. This is so close to my heart right now, and I just need to get something down and out into the world, however imperfectly expressed. All that said, I find myself so hungry.

andy & emy go on an adventure: March 2012
http://andyandemy.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Our new home /. Saturday, March 17, 2012. We've been busy . . . And unfortunately it's this space that's taken a hit. Emy has been writing quite a bit more on her personal blog. And last month she also started a school blog. So feel free to check those out if you need a fix. While it's hard to imagine this blog will stay quiet forever, right now we're going to focus on actually living our adventure without any pressure to document it for the public. Hope you'll understand! Cheers (and bye for now),.
