An Attic Bedroom and the last few days of Christmas Magic. Our visitors have departed, we are have eaten our way through too many boxes of chocolates and the pile of wine bottles in the recycling box is rather embarrassing.so the house feels a little empty. A Bonnie Life in the Country. A diary of our DIY adventures as we renovate an old farmhouse.that is always full of muddy paws. I am cursed with the same thing a lot of us girls suffer from- expensive taste and a low paid job. I am rubbish at taking advantage of vouchers/special offers on things - I forget or loose the receipts/tokens. So my suggestions involve very little effort-just a few adjustments to the way you buy things. Some you may have already thought of and use yourself. If you craft a lot lik...

A Bonnie Life in the Country. A diary of our DIY adventures as we renovate an old farmhouse.that is always full of muddy paws. Wednesday, 18 December 2013. Starting on the Kitchen. We have started on the kitchen which is both exciting and scary. Its the largest room in our house and its right in the middle. The scary RED hallway was also hastily covered in 4 coats of magnolia, a quick fix to calm it down. I love red but not that RED- it gave me a headache. Literally sparks flying everywhere! So here it i...

Another Reason Not to Like the Word….Bloat. Originally posted on Feminists in Student Affairs. By Jodi Koslow Martin. Another Conversation on Hazing: Part III. Yup I dropped that bomb in my last post: I am a proponent of a federal anti-hazing law. To be fair, I am not the first person to consider this approach. In fact, Representative Frederica Wilson of Florida proposed a framework. So what does all of this mean? Another Conversation About Hazing: Part II. Funny you should ask! Now, as fraternity and so...

Tuesday, September 04, 2012. I will be sure to bring some scuba gear to go with my suit coat. That is an inside family joke because Wizzo fell into the ocean at Tim's wedding. Hopefully I will come away from the family gathering exhausted and resolute to have a family vacation this coming summer as this time around we kind of had to cancel last minute. Kosciuszko’s Garden is one of the oldest continuously existing gardens in the United States. Colonel (later General) Thaddeus Kosciuszko, the Polish engineer, designed, engineered and oversaw the construction of the original fortifications at West Point while serving in the Continental Army. During his time at West Point (1778-1780), Kosciuszko built a garden with his own hands terraced on the side of a cliff overlooking the Hudson River for the purpose of rest and repose.

Friday, March 13, 2009. So here's some plants I'm super excited for this summer. A lot of these are plants I haven't tried before, but am really excited about. They look fun, vintage- ish. Or just really interesting. Here's part of the description from Fedco. Seeds: "These 6–7' annuals, surrounded by large tassels of lightly scented pink blossoms and heart-shaped leaves! In 1935 for 15¢ per packet as Ruby Gem." Totally love the name and will try growing them just because of it. Anyway, he suggested plant...
