Ultra Dream: Auckland Marathon - Race Report
http://kieranmischewskinzironman2008.blogspot.com/2008/11/auckland-marathon-race-report.html
Musings about running . and life . and whatever else takes my fancy . Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Auckland Marathon - Race Report. Anyway I digress, its time for a RACE REPORT! I don’t know, but I know a lot of people who missed out on getting their entry in on time. Marathon day started for me at 3:30am after getting absolutely zero sleep! Unfortunately I ended up running the first 5k a little quick and averaged closer to 4:45 minutes per k. I kept on trying to slow down at each k, but didn’t...I ended...

Ultra Dream: Random Questions
http://kieranmischewskinzironman2008.blogspot.com/2009/04/random-questions.html
Musings about running . and life . and whatever else takes my fancy . Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Just a quick post today to answer some random questions. Over the coming weeks I'll expand on these a fair bit, but for now here's the short answers. Do you think the 24 hour race will mess you up as much as Ironman? I should qualify that by saying that "finishing" Ironman is easy in comparison to finishing an ultra, "racing" is no doubt quite hard judging by the number of pro's who end up in the medical tent).
Ultra Dream: 1st Triathlon - Rotorua Half Ironman
http://kieranmischewskinzironman2008.blogspot.com/2007/12/1st-triathlon-rotorua-half-ironman.html
Musings about running . and life . and whatever else takes my fancy . Sunday, December 16, 2007. 1st Triathlon - Rotorua Half Ironman. I was just about at the swim start when I looked down at my ankle and realise that I had left my timing chip in the car! I had 8 minutes to o until the start (3 minutes before the final briefing) and had to decide if I really needed it or not – I decided that I probably did and so ran to transition (again! End result was 6 hours 9 minutes. I had hoped to go sub 6, and...

Just Don't Stop...: Run Auckland Race 3
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2008/05/run-auckland-race-3.html
Sunday, May 11, 2008. Run Auckland Race 3. Flat, fast, and furious? Provisional results in : 42:49 placed 22/66 in 30-39 men. A PB and quite pleased with the time compared to the last race! The course itself was 4 laps of this scenic route. Dead flat aside from judder bars and traffic islands. Course map is here:. Andrew is getting fit. I must admit to looking at the 10Kers at the start and wondering which one you were! I set a PB as well. ;). May 11, 2008 at 3:19 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Just Don't Stop...: June 2010
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 12, 2010. Pouring with rain now but that's ok because in 7 hours I'm about to fly off to Indonesia for a week for work. Will be hectic - I'm taking my running shoes on the off-chance I get sneak a run in. Yesterday had a couple of vaccination jabs and am on anti-maleria drugs as a precaution. Knocking me about a little - went for a run with James this morning and the run was a bit substandard really. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Auckland, New Zealand.
Just Don't Stop...: Getting closer
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2010/05/getting-closer.html
Friday, May 14, 2010. The swimming must be helping, or perhaps it's the fast runs with Claude the Frenchman at work but I'm starting to get close to my short term goal weight of 83kg. For added incentive I have given myself a carrot of new running shoes when my physicsdiet gets to 83. Definitely motivation. Good weighing in daily in the 82-83 range regularly. My ultimate goal is to get back to my BM (before marriage) weight of 80kg. Basically you run the fastest mile to escape the horde! View my complete...
Just Don't Stop...: September 2009
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 28, 2009. Stuffed after my long run yesterday! Was intending to leave early but didn't get my act together until about 3pm. I did finish it but was starting to feel fatigue on the return leg. The effect of yesterday's 16km on the return leg? 3172km / 2:46:39 / 5:15min/km. Still I'm happy of getting through a big chunk of weekend running. Feel a bit stuffed - thankfully this week is a step back week with reduced distance. At the turnaround point stopped for a couple of obligatory photos.
Just Don't Stop...: May 2010
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 15, 2010. So I did the 1 mile ( 1.6km) race challenge on dailymile called outrun the horde:. Http:/ www.dailymile.com/challenges/1266-outrun-the-horde. This morning I mapped out a local course along my road and into the next, quietly wishing it was flat rather than undulating. Warm-up go was 7:29 (4:32 min/km). Took a deep breath, opened the taps, and put my foot down. 5:57 for a 3:42min/km pace. Running fast(ish) does make you feel alive - and safe from zombies! Friday, May 14, 2010. Someo...
Just Don't Stop...: ADRA Charity Run 2008 - Race Report
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2008/12/adra-charity-run-race-report.html
Thursday, December 4, 2008. ADRA Charity Run 2008 - Race Report. The ADRA charity run. Was run along Auckland's eastern bays. While being one of the most popular areas of Auckland to go running I've never actually run along here before. Running by the harbour is a novelty for me and it was great! Interesting to note that this takes in some of the second part of the Auckland marathon. Course (my big goal for 2009). Aside from a moderate hill in St. Heliers in the first third the rest of the course. At aro...
Just Don't Stop...: Finished! Auckland Marathon 2009
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2009/11/finished-auckland-marathon-2009.html
Sunday, November 1, 2009. Gun Time = 3:43:35. Net Time = 3:43:00. The longest and hardest 8km. From 34km. However I'll start at the beginning. Spaghetti on Saturday night and went to bed early at 8pm. Unfortunately the nerves had really started to catch up with me and I didn't really sleep much at all. I'm guessing this is fairly normal. At around 3.30am I thought stuff this and got up. And some vaseline (to prevent chaffing). And also S from work (who I didn't know was running). Work colleague N cau...
Just Don't Stop...: December 2009
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. Better sneak this in before the clock strikes midnight. Run a minimum of 40km a week on average. Have fun doing it. Be smart and listen to my body (no injuries). Auckland Marathon 2010 in sub 3:30. Shoot for a PB in a shorter distance, either a 10km or the half. Swim at least once a week at the pools or ocean. Build up to Auckland Habour Crossing Ocean Swim in 2010. Cycle a minimum of say 120km a week (much of this will be in the commute). 3 home workouts a week (Mon/Wed/Fri).
Just Don't Stop...: January 2010
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 20, 2010. My morning commute is a bit short so have tacked out a little extra 3ishkm detour near the start - giving 12km on the way in. Nice to have the fall back short course if I'm running short on time. No running the last three days had soreness in right arch since Sunday so having a small rest. If I have time tomorrow might get out but work has been pretty hectic - bit of a blur really. Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Now this - http:/ www.bikewisechallenge.co.nz/. Off to the beach tod...
Just Don't Stop...: November 2009
http://justdontstop.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 29, 2009. Two weeks into my new job and it has been hectic. Certainly more pressure in the private sector but so far enjoying the challenge. Feel like I'm settled in now. Good to get back running haven't done all that much since the marathon. Plenty of scope to vary the route as well through Mt Eden Village, or over the hill itself. Wednesday, November 11, 2009. One goal for 2010 for me is going to be the Auckland Harbour Crossing. I have a few more goals to come. Monday, November 9, 2009.

October 7, 2015 · 1:15 pm. Inspired by an exercise from. Dialogue is super important, yet it’s tricky. This is a little cheesy, but it was fun to write. It helped me take a break from writing. New site under construction. My old site kinda sucked and was a bit embarrassing, so I'm replacing it with this placeholder until I can be bothered to make a new one. Some of the back buttons might be broken because of the disastrous way I handled things years ago. I'll fix that at some point too.
