Adventures in the Holy Land. Saturday, July 4, 2009. At branch prayer, we sang patriotic songs, and had a parade after. And by parade, i mean Mason standing on the wheelchair as Michael pushed him, throwing candy at us, with Kat banging on a trash can. i mean drum. And afterwards we sang traditional american songs, like Yankee-doodle and some country song at the top of our lungs on the balcony. Then we set off fireworks! For Christians and Jews it is the location of the First and Second Temples, and for Jews, the eventual location for the Third Temple. (Jewish art in the city is funny. Any picture of the western wall, or view of the city often 'leaves out' the Dome of the Rock. In some cases, Solomon's temple replaces it.).
