KILLALA SEA TROUT ANGLING. GUIDED SEA TROUT ANGLING ON THE RIVER MOY ESTUARY. My boat anchored in the Moy channel off Bartragh Island. We fish from a strong, fast and stable 19ft boat designed for inshore sea angling and powered by a 90hp outboard motor. The centre console design means lots of fishing space and easy casting all-round for three anglers. A boat of this size is perfect for fishing the estuary as much of the fishing is done in very shallow water.

Although natural baits are the most effective some nice trout can be taken on lures. My experience of fishing sea trout in this area stretches back to the early 1980s. As a young lad I spent countless hours fishing and exploring the estuary by foot, all valuable experience for the future.

Most visitors will either be in or near Ballina and must then find the Killala road (R314).If you are travelling from Foxford on the N26 simply drive straight through Ballina and make no turns and you will soon find yourself on the R314.
