I now have a new appreciation of the availability of it, the cleanliness of it, and ease of its access both here and within the states. Kim Black's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. October 3, 2009. Just finished a three-day conference in Nairobi. I stayed with my advisor in this nice hotel and felt totally spoiled by the great water pressure, warm water, and western type food (that is until I got food poisoning and was throwing up and had diarrhea at the same time! It was also interesting to hear the many issues around international adoption (I had no idea! Also while in Nairobi I got to go to my first safari with my advisor=)!

Kim Black's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. September 6, 2009. Arrived in Kenya safely last night after a 22 hour journey from Atlanta to Chicago to London to Nairobi. Was greeted by a sign in the airport that read, “Smile. You’re in Kenya.” Seems like a dream come true to be here. Attached are some maps so you can get acquainted with where I am. I am currently in Neirobi at the ChildFund Kenya headquarters and will be leaving for Kitui (east of Nairbi) on Saturday. Pray for the people here.

Still not a lot of time, but the couple more weeks feel like a gift. It also allows me to spend Christmas with my family and finish up my MSW-MPH by May 2010.and then perhaps I can come back again=). This month has been full of new cultural experiences. Who knew that she could make me look so smart =) (as Kenyans say)?
