This post is a bit outdated as I’ve been back from my trip to the states for about a month, but I still wanted to write about about this very busy trip home. Although I didn’t enjoy the fiddleback spiders, learning I had about a zillion cavities, and being away from Joel, the special time with family and friends made the trip worth it. What do you think? So, lately i've been pondering the good things in life.and i want to know, what good things you. Think Christians are guaranteed? What good things are we promised? Today I sat at a coffee shop about a 30 minute walk from my apartment, and I proceeded to write a list of things which I don't understand. not things like "astrophysics", but more along the lines of life's mysteries. that is probably not surprising to those of you who know me best; I am never quite contented to leave things unquestioned. As I get older, I find that life's questions get more difficult to answer with uplifting assurance: Why did she/he have to contract cancer? Why did my parent have to die too soon? They had so much more life to live. Why did God get our hopes up with a child, only for us bear the emotional heartache of another miscarriage? The real answers will not satisfy like they once did at a much younger age.
