My daughter talks. I write. 8220;Mommy, I don’t feel pretty…”. These words stopped me in my tracks. I could hear my heartbeat loudly in my ears. My hands were sweaty. Inside I’m screaming “What? Wait, no. Not yet. I thought I had more time! More time to teach my 7 year old to love her body, herself, her uniqueness without reservation. More time to buffer her from the worlds messages about Beauty. More time to strengthen her sense of self. More time to help her find her voice in a room full of people.
