Wood Chuck's Workshop: ScrewDrivers
http://woodchucksworkshop.blogspot.com/2015/01/screwdrivers.html
My exploits as a relative novice at fine wood working. Wednesday, January 7, 2015. For a couple of the screwdrivers I glued some thinner stock together. I finished them with spray lacquer. Shaping the Sapele screwdriver (yes, I need to get better about taking my ring off when I am in the shop). I added burn lines for decoration. Top to Bottom: Sapele, walnut, Cherry and walnut, and walnut and sycamore. The screwdriver gifts were very well received and it was a lot fun to make them. Toolboxes for the Kids.

Wood Chuck's Workshop: January 2015
http://woodchucksworkshop.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
My exploits as a relative novice at fine wood working. Saturday, January 24, 2015. As I was cleaning in the shop recently I found some old files and rasp that were NY grandpa's. I had forgot I had them. Only one of them had a handle. I need a simple lathe project to get my fix so I used some scrap and turned some handles. Files are a lot nicer to use when they have a handle. Oak handle on top and a maple handle on bottom.too. Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Thursday, January 8, 2015. Leopard wood seam ripper.

Wood Chuck's Workshop: February 2014
http://woodchucksworkshop.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
My exploits as a relative novice at fine wood working. Tuesday, February 25, 2014. More pens and videos. I've been turning some more pens again when I don't have a lot of shop time. I've also been making some videos while in the shop. One of the recent pens I made was made from purple heart. Purple heart is brown after cutting or sanding, the purple will return on its own with time and exposure to sunlight. But it's possible to speed this process up by heating the wood. Here the color change is noticeable.

http://woodchucksworkshop.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
My exploits as a relative novice at fine wood working. Friday, December 26, 2014. I watched Steve Ramsey with Wood Working for Mere Mortals. Make a game called Quoridor. It looked like a fun game to play. I think games make good gifts, and most the time fairly easy to make. I wanted to make a few copies of the Quoridor game. After all the grooves were cut I trimmed the their final sizes. Next I used some solid maple to make a frame around the plywood fields. I then turned some game pieces. Last night aft...
