And while I'm sitting here updating I may as well write a little post. (Mostly because I'm supposed to work but it's Sunday and I really really really don't feel like it at all.). Now the term is in full swing, and with it all my grad council/Let's talk science/museum activities. Took the new grads out for beers and some appies on Friday, and had a blast!

Nachdem ich mich nun ausführlich darüber ausgelassen habe, warum es Wissenschaftlern nicht um Ruhm und Ehre geht, möchte ich auf zwei Dinge zu sprechen kommen, die unter Wissenschaftlern doch so etwas wie Ruhm und Ehre mit sich bringen, oder besser gesagt Prestige: Forschungsgelder und das Veröffentlichen von Artikeln in bestimmten Zeitschriften. Die zweite Art, in der Wissenschaft zu Prestige zu kommen, ist, in Zeitschriften wie Nature.

Dienstag, 17. Juni 2014. Auf dem Weg von der Hochzeit zum Flughafen haben wir am Sonntag noch einen Abstecher zum Himmelsscheibenmuseum in Nebra gemacht. Nebra liegt im Burgenland inmitten von Feldern und Hügeln und wäre wahrscheinlich immer noch ein verschlafenes Nest, wenn es nicht vor einigen Jahren archäologischen Weltruhm erlangt hätte. Mir hat unser Besuch im Himmelsscheibenmuseum sehr gefallen. Schade, daß wir nicht so viel Zeit hatten. Man kann dort locker mehrere Stunden verbringen. Lifetime imp...

A place to update family on what's happening in my world. Sunday, 19 June 2011. Another installment of photos! The hotel we stayed at in Merzouga (on the edge of the Sahara) was gorgeous. It was all made of mud, by the local people, and was pretty luxury! This was my view on our rest day (sand dunes starting just past the fence.). They made the BEST food, probably my favourite meals were the ones that we had here. Tagine with Beef and eggs. Yum. In the Toudra gorge. Springs bubbling up from underground.
