Monday, April 13, 2009. Forget Celebrating Strunk and White. Posted by Linda Sherwood. April 16 is the 50th anniversary of that little grammar guide, Strunk and White's The Elements of Style. But should writers celebrate? One writer and professor, Geoffrey K. Pullum ,. The Chronicle of Higher Ed's web site is a subscription-based site, but here is the link to Pullum's article titled, " 50 Years of Stupid Grammar Advice. By Jan Freeman titled, " Frankenstrunk. Strong words: "idiosyncratic bumblers! S&W di...

I wish I could send a paper Christmas card to everyone I know, but sadly, resources are finite. In lieu of that, Im celebrating the second day of this joyous season by posting our Christmas greetings here. This is the picture (courtesy of a dear life-long friend) that I put on our card this year, and the text of the letter I sent. Linus is on the right). During F...

Mama Needs A Book Contract: July 2009
http://mamaneedsabookcontract.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Growing into my very geeky job. When this blog first started I'd *just* been accepted into a University course in Creative writing and Criminology. I dropped the 'criminology' part, and focussed, instead, on Psychology for the five 'spare slots' that I had. That was just under two years ago - and last year, around this time, I finally worked out what I wanted to do when I graduated. How's your summer looking? The writer in me. The writing I love. Thursday, July 2, 2009. Is a freel...

http://mamaneedsabookcontract.blogspot.com/2009/08/birthin-book-lessons-learned.html
Saturday, August 1, 2009. Birthin' a Book and Lessons Learned. A few weeks ago Kai and I were discussing "having a baby" and "writing/publishing a book". She asked about why I made the analogy about birthing a baby and a book. So here is a little more discussion on that topic. Let's see how we make a baby. (Sorry, no videos for this one! Girl meets Boy and They Fall In Love. They Get Married (hey, its my analogy so we're going down the traditional path! They have a honeymoon and love each other A LOT.

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Wednesday, September 20, 2006. I wrote a book! I'm pretty proud of myself, thanks. It was not nearly as easy as I thought it would be and my dreams of writing an actual, real book with a stroyling, subplots, several characters went far, far away. I have a lot of new found respect for anyone that even attempts to write a real book. Para; 1:29 PM. Comments: Post a Comment. Links to this post:. Tallahassee Kayaking and Geocaching.
