Life & Travels: October 2014
http://lindsherron.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 6, 2014. Ruined by the ruins. Leaving Semuc Champey was a bit sad. It is always hard to leave a place we really love while traveling even with the understanding that the next place we find might not be as great or it could be even better! The long bus ride to Tikal actually flew by quite quickly. We were on a decent size minibus for 11.5 hours but it wasn't as crowded as the last one we had survived! Some people would say "you're in Central America, it's a cockroach, big deal." I say&...

Life & Travels: Welcome to nursing....
http://lindsherron.blogspot.com/2012/05/welcome-to-nursing.html
Friday, May 11, 2012. I've been privy to a number of stories from nurses about their first day on the floor. It always seems like they have a patient Code or something really dramatic to deal with. My first day was no different.it must be one of Murphy's many Laws. I had spent one day with the unit coordinator- learning the paperwork side of things and was spending my first 'real' day on the floor with a CNA. How did she get here? Why are you asking me this? I have NO friggin idea. Can you turn also turn...

Life & Travels: June 2013

Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Missing buses, zip-lining and "safety" face paint! We arrived in Mindo on Monday- a cute little town set in the mountains. We both loved it immediately! There is one Main Street - the people seem extremly friendly and we love the hostel we are staying in. In fact, we loved it so much that the first night here we took warm showers and just read in our room for the evening! So, I cried. As per the usual, Angela razzed me enough and told the guides that I was a "little tiny baby" i...

Life & Travels: July 2011
http://lindsherron.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 18, 2011. It has been WAY too long since I last blogged. I would apologize- but I've also realized that there are certain things that are just NOT going to get done in 2011. Blogging is one of them. I still love catching up on people's blogs- but I can't seem to sit down to write. Ugh. Breathers after Med/Surge.and I've been enjoying my time! And I took a road trip. To South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore- why not right? Crossed another state off my list, camped, road tripped. Kids dancing befor...

Saturday, September 27, 2014. Guatemala has been an absolute blur of beautiful people, buses, and apparently time! I can't believe it has been a week since we left Denver. With the intention to blog everyday- I've clearly missed the mark, but created amazing memories regardless! So, needless to say choosing Guatemala did not come without a fair share of worry, but we talked to enough people and really got ourselves comfortable with the precautions to take. Phew I was one step ahead of him! They are part ...

Thursday, June 28, 2012. The backpack is packed.well, almost. After a year of nursing school and finding a job- it is time to take a vacation! People have asked how I got vacation time after being at a job for such a short while.well, it is easy- I just asked. I think the best time to ask for vacation is when you just get a job.chances are they won't say no- and if they do- you just don't take the vacation. Asking never hurts anything!
