Just another WordPress.com site. Original Thoughts on Research. Keep on chuggin’ →. Did a week yesterday. August 2, 2010. There were a lots of things that caused me to reflect last week. Unfortunately telling myself I would blog tomorrow after I finished this, and worked on that, caused me to realize reflections can end shortly after the projection stops. Best to stay on these things so they can be fixed and do what they are supposed to! I am new to blogging. View all posts by dscotten →.

Really? | Learning New Steps
https://sheena4rru.wordpress.com/2010/08/03/really
August 3, 2010 at 9:52 pm ( Reflections on Learning. Ok, I’m responsible. Early last week, I nay have been overheard expressing curiousity about laughter yoga. Now I know😉. 8:30 yoga followed by …. finishing with 4 1/2 hours of case study presentation prep. Then home to blog! So, typos and all, I’m off to bed wishing my chort sound and restful sleep free from learning theory or research terms. Just think, only 2 more days of academic boot-camp and then it’s a piece of cake right? While I blatantly led o...

Breaking Through Walls | Learning New Steps
https://sheena4rru.wordpress.com/2010/07/27/break-through-walls
July 27, 2010 at 7:05 pm ( Reflections on Learning. Preface to this and future entries:. Please indulge my rambling imagination and desire to express myself genuinely. My brain is spinning:. Absorption into group work. Linking readings to lectures but still behind on reading. Challenging myself in social contexts. Quiet reading breaks at lunch. Shared enthusiasm/sense of adventure. I laugh a lot🙂. July 28, 2010 at 8:34 pm. July 29, 2010 at 5:35 pm. I was very uncomfortable reading a description of ̶...

Connecting MOOCs (cck11/mobiMOOC) & MALAT. April 6, 2011 at 2:05 pm ( Pondering. Connectivism and Connective Knowledge. I have been remiss in not being more reflective throughout CCK11. But am proud that I was able to attend all by one of the synchronous Elluminate sessions where I was a quiet participant more than a lurker😉, I engaged with 50% or more of the recommended resources for each topic; I also joined the CCK11 FaceBook group and posted occasionally. My first experiences in a MOOC. My final ass...

New Directions | Learning New Steps

May 13, 2011 at 8:37 am ( Pondering. With little inclination to continue working on the myriad projects before me, I’ve decided to purge… I mean write. My life is chaotic; it’s great, but requiring much concentration to keep everything straight and to maintain motivation. I’ve been feeling exhilarated, satisfied, challenged, inspired, appreciated … terrified, embarrassed, isolated, frustrated and challenged. Nearly six weeks ago, I committed to being an “Active Participant” in mobiMOOC. What I hadn’...

shopping for MOOCs, an investment in CCK11 | Learning New Steps

Shopping for MOOCs, an investment in CCK11. January 19, 2011 at 11:11 am ( Reflections on Learning. Really, really, but was forced to curb my spending habits as I got closer to 35; chalking it up to maturity. My interests have shifted. Old inclinations to spend money are becoming yellow and dingy. This morning I attended the premier Elluminate. Session for CCK11, my first Massive Open Online Course. My participation in Connectivism and Connective Knowledge 2011. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. August 1, 2010 at 10:02 am ( Reflections on Learning. Leaving the house, arms laden with 2 clumsy bags and a cup of coffee. Calmreally? Bags settled in the trunk. I move to sit but pause to wonder “What the h@ll? 8221; After a few long minutes of rubbing away the oozy splatters on my new ‘first day of school skirt’ I realized that I had been pooped on. No time to change, grin and go. Good luck right? 8220;You will learn a lot! Of my teaching classroom is eye-opening. For the first time, that I can re...

Introduction Relfection | Learning New Steps
https://sheena4rru.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/introduction-relfection
July 17, 2010 at 1:37 pm ( Reflections on Learning. When Bill Muirhead asked us to reflect on the experience of constructing introductions to our cohort. I was intrigued by the idea of the “Impostor Syndrome” and very quickly remembered the bouncy, blonde, aerobics instructor that I invented in 1997 for sole purpose of meeting new people online. So, how did I choose to introduce myself? Honestly with a little horn tooting mixed in for good measure🙂. What were the main lessons for me in this activity?
