I'll give you a shiny nickel. Embrace the Burn →. November 13, 2012. A bit of housekeeping, first. Despite the somewhat dire tone of my last entry, I did not, in fact, die of food poisoning. Or glass consumption. Huzzah. Was my immediate thought. The kiss of death. Some is a little vague.]. Do you think the potatoes are done? I kept asking Sarah, 2 minutes and 4 minutes and 6 minutes after I had dumped them in the pot. This week’s synchroblog topic was maxims. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

WordMarrow: where's the f** in church?
http://amykopecky.blogspot.com/2010/04/wheres-f-in-church.html
Where's the f* in church? We've been in an odd season in our church recently. The words "disillusioning", "hopeful", "frustrating" and "confusing" also come to mind. I haven't been able to write about it, which is another oddity because I'm usually able to work through my thoughts better when I write them down. You may worship with them and pray with them, but. Do you hang out with them outside of church "meetings"? Do you go to them for advice? Do you eat together? We have both been in a few different c...

I write to be rid of things. Sunday, October 14, 2012. We learned today. (We've come to Norway, part 2). This was our second Norwegian worship service - last night we attended a youth service and this morning was a for-everyone service. It was nice, and we're getting much better at pronouncing Norwegian words because of their praise songs. During the sermons, we get headphones so that we can listen to a translator. Fun fact. We also saw lots of beautifully made wooden things, like this piano. After all t...

WordMarrow: Starbucks Sex
http://amykopecky.blogspot.com/2009/01/starbucks-sex.html
My maternal grandma went to Starbucks for the first time last weekend. Actually, it was the first time she's ever gone out just for coffee. She went because her daughters were visiting. They shared a pastry between the five of them. She had water. My grandma didn't grow up "going to coffee." She grew up in a time when coffee wasn't a main event. Coffee was just a cup of hot, murky black liquid ("It tastes like a cup of crappy coffee." "No, it's the world's best cup of coffee! Beautiful and wise, my friend.

We grow neither better nor worse as we get old, but more like ourselves” May Lamberton Becker. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. More Questions than Answers. This last week, in my travels, I spent a lot of time talking/processing/praying about life, about where God is leading me and why it feels that Everything Is Happening All At Once. Now being on the "flip side" of this trip, I still have more questions than answers, more things to process, more decisions to make than decisions made. Tuesday, August 24, 2010.

May 27, 2010. Lately, Hubby has been helped by a trainer on how to eat better. It has blown my mind to see how much his diet really does need to differ from mine (he needs to eat way more than me! I knew that, but still didn’t realize the extent). Understand that I’m not upset with any of this. Overall, I think we will both be healthier! Two things make this easier:. 1 Hubby is enthusiastic. 2 I am excited to support him – and myself! Laquo; The Dork in Me. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Dork in Me.
