Days 115-118 →. December 2, 2010 · 1:31 am. From Asheville to Clarksville, a definite step down, ville-wise. But a good friend lives in Clarksville, so we went, and his best efforts to make us dislike the place as much as he does went unrewarded, mostly. The food was better than average and the riverfront was satisfying. Worse than Asheville, yes, but a fine place to visit. Days 115-118 →. Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com. Days 121-125 →. January 16, 2011 · 11:56 pm. This is the final guest post from Sarah, who shared this trip with me. For those who have seen. No Country For Old Men. There Will Be Blood. You have seen Marfa. At least glimpses. The glimpses of vast, astonishing nothingness, that is largely what Marfa is. The dry land and tumbleweeds and sky for miles that West Texas is known for. There Will Be Blood. What do they do? What do you do in Marfa? Why these desolate army barracks? Why put your masterpiece here?

March 2, 2011 · 6:56 pm. We camped for the last time at the windswept mouth of a valley in Texas. We barely slept; our tent caught the gusts like a sail; I dreamt I was tumbling through the sky. The metal rings that held the canvas to the pegs spread into withered, droopy arcs under the pressure and we woke to find that only the weight of our bodies had kept us in place. https://kmaletsky.wordpress.com/2010/11/16/days-108-109
Days 110-114 →. November 16, 2010 · 12:16 am. This is guest post number two from co-pilot Sarah. I had been told that I would love Asheville. My hopes were high, and were exceeded by a town surrounded by hills that looked like mountains, a local beer scene (and art scene) that seemed small but were explosive and main drags that went on and up through the Blue Ridges and changing leaves. One day was not long enough to spend in this little gem. Could I call this place home? Days 110-114 →.

living in misery: 2009: The Year of Lists - Kristen
http://in-misery.blogspot.com/2009/12/2009-year-of-lists-kristen.html
Wednesday, December 23, 2009. 2009: The Year of Lists - Kristen. It seems like I consumed a good deal of music in 2009, but I struggled to find ten albums that stood out as "must-haves." I consulted other "top 10" lists online, Pitchfork.that whole deal, but the albums that kept popping up on those lists (with the exception of maybe 1 or 2) just left me with the following reaction: a big fat "meh.". I said to myself "Why look at what others pick and why not just pick your own? Song Worth a Repeat. Quadru...

Thursday, December 24, 2009. 2009: The Year of Lists - John-Paul. John-Paul provided me his Last FM profile. For his biographical information. So, I'll let it do the talking for me. living in misery: Accross the Vick Divide
http://in-misery.blogspot.com/2007/09/accross-vick-divide.html
Tuesday, September 25, 2007. Accross the Vick Divide. The media has done it again! They have found yet another issue with which to polarize our country. And as usual, the issue has strong racial undertones. The issue for which I'm writing about is the Mike Vick do. ESPN conducted a town hall. Meeting concerning " The Vick Divide. An African-American sports hero is supposedly condemned by whites and unconditionally supported by blacks. The race divide is the first and foremost issue that is ignored by whi...

Saturday, December 26, 2009. 2009: The Year of Lists - Tina Roselle. Tina appeared on my radar a while back with some comments here and there. I finally followed the hyperlinked trail to her blog,. She's done what I would have liked to do with this blog which was to make it a full-fledged local music blog. Between previews and reviews of local shows, Tina fits in regular commentary on current music trends as well as some free MP3's. It's good stuff. Go read it now. Grizzly Bear, Veckatimest. living in misery: In Retrospect: Exile in Guyville
http://in-misery.blogspot.com/2008/06/in-retrospect-exile-in-guyville.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2008. In Retrospect: Exile in Guyville. Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville. Received the 15-year anniversary reissue treatment earlier this week. Phair is even performing the album ATP-style by playing the entire thing for audiences, which is unheard of for the lo-fi legend with stage fright. Even Pitchfork. Knew enough to give the reissue a 9.6. The cultural value of this record is hard to deny. This album (along with PJ Harvey's Rid of Me. Was my introduction to feminist idea. In "Help M...

Public Benefits and Assistance. The Stigma of Food Stamps. July 27, 2014. You see that they are very embarrassed by it. In addition, some cashiers are very rude and unforgiving when something like that happens. Instead, they choose to broadcast the problem out loud so that everyone in line at the cash register will know they there is a problem with that ebt card balance or that food stamp card balance. That is the right thing to do because even though the media likes to portray the food assistance problem.

Saturday, 22 August 2015. Cover Art Design - Dos and Don'ts. So cover art. Never judge a book by it's cover, eh? Unfortunately, people do and in my opinion should, to a certain degree. If a cover looks unprofessional, hashed together or ill fitting then it's perfectly natural to assume that equal care has been taken on what lies behind the cover. Take a random photo, even if you think it does fit the theme and genre, and just throw your name and the book title on it in MSpaint or other basic software.
