Looking forward. | Nickerjac

I guess it’s the traditional end of year blog entry, it’s not been the best of years for us for a number of reasons and although I know it could have been far worse I don’t think I am being to self indulgent in saying it has been pretty crap. So putting that behind us and looking forward to next year, I don’t think making new years resolutions will help my stress levels so I’m just going to list some things I would like to do something about this year. 4 The final thing I want to do is completely inspire...

I loved my Dad, we didn’t always see eye to eye about things and he wasn’t perfect, who is? But always at the end of everything he was my dad. He also brought me up through those horrible teenage years, (I really was horrible) hard work for a couple let alone a single man. Next Post →. 4 responses to “. Robert William Wyborn 1945-2015. Next Post →. January 2, 2015 · 9:15 pm. A Brand New Year. Unfortunately I have come to realise after many years this doesn’t mean a brand new me. I was looking for last years new year post which seems to have vanished, I am sure I did one but did find the years before and I seem to be repeating myself a lot. I know some people are doing the 15 in 15 idea which I first read about on http:/ madeinoxford.wordpress.com which is a wonderful idea but haven’t quite managed to fit into that format. An adventure with sheep's wool - shearing it, preparing it, spinning it , dying it , knitting . the learning is endless! Links to some of my learning videos bottom page. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Green Peridot scarf gets a copper pin. I've added some modifications to the copper shawls pin - a tiny beed on the tip (to stop it snagging on the yarn) and a little chain between the stylus and the main broach so it won't escape and get lost - or wind up where it should not be. DroimAnUan: Spinning Merino Purples

An adventure with sheep's wool - shearing it, preparing it, spinning it , dying it , knitting . the learning is endless! Links to some of my learning videos bottom page. Sunday, March 15, 2015. After getting hold of a bag of Merino roving (from Wingham Wool Work I think) with 13 shades of purples and mauves, I decided to spin sequential colors in the singles and then ply. The solution: chain the sliver nests together in order as each one is spun so it can't get away then put the chains back in the bag.

New Drop Spindle - a delight. In addition to the BFL roving I bought at Woolfest, I also fell for a lovely hand-made drop spindle (I will. Find the makers name). It just suited my hand - such an opportunity to test-drive several spindles and find the one that suits. Links to this post. Lovely wools and crafts.

An adventure with sheep's wool - shearing it, preparing it, spinning it , dying it , knitting . the learning is endless! Links to some of my learning videos bottom page. Friday, March 27, 2015. I've spun about 145 gms of the Merino roving in lilacs and puples. There was only a little bleeding on the first rinse and none so far in the second. I'm hoping the sampling the hank and letting it hang-dry will even out some of the slobber parts. Here it is on the swift before soaking:. Links to this post. Somewh...
