Thursday, 29 March 2012. West Africa part 1 – Morocco. Our stay was concluded with a celebratory farewell to Fia and Herman counting bottles of beer in grand hotel Tazi. The next day we boarded a train for Fez. A relaxing seven hour train ride on Morocco’s small, but efficient rail network. We found a rundown hotel in the Petit Socco. Of the historical old city. Tangier had been administered as an international zone by European powers until 1956/7. Then followed Moroccan independence. During ...Today the...

Thursday, 30 September 2010. तोगेथेर. It's doing it again! It should read: TOGETHER. Trying to capture the vibe of the previous post. Wednesday, 22 September 2010. Finally it must be time for a blogpost. I’m sitting by the kitchen table in my Bergen flat, eating oatmeal and waiting for the coffee. To be done while looking out at the grey, rainy sky. It’s a slow morning and I can’t find the motivation to open a book. We’ve got a new cohabitant. Now the coffee is ready! Shane has also gotten a new cohabita...

Sunday, 15 April 2012. West Africa part 3 - The Land of Moors. No-man’s land between Western Sahara and Mauritania can only be described as a graveyard of electrical appliances. Everything from TVs, washing machines, toilets and cars lie segregated into rusting piles of garbage. How this technological wasteland developed in the middle of nowhere is beyond comprehension. Small encampments of shacks lay spaciously separated by old tires and decaying garbage. We stopped for lunch at some traditional Maurita...

Sunday, 10 June 2012. West Africa part 5 - The Gambia. English version available at the bottom of this page. 8211; Happy birthday Mr. President!

Friday, 4 May 2012. West Africa part 4 - Senegal. Guest post by Christopher Lindberg Brekke. We got talking with Marcel, the owner of the establishment. He had enjoyed a privileged upbringing in West Germany as the son of a diplomat. After a few drinks the topic shifted to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a long debate ensued. Later he tried to convince us that Oscar Schindler was a Norwegian diplomat. In the end we had to agree to disagree. Street scene in St. Louis. We had decided to visit the nati...

Wednesday, 9 March 2011. Finally, the weather in London is turning! My mood is better, my productivity is better, and I sit under my roof window drawing Indian houses in the fresh air. I wanted to share my wonderful view with you. Spot Canay Wharf and the Gherkin! Tuesday, 8 March 2011. Me and Anthony decided since all the other rooms in our new flat is white, the hallway should be something else. Green! The hallway doesn't have any windows, so excuse the blurry photos. Will post more soon! It’s on...

Friday, 20 August 2010. We missed you so much Shane! Seeing as i am back in London and, for now, jobless, I've got a couple of projects going! Firstly, making the house look nice after my prolonged absence, and secondly, making a lamp! It's going to consist of a board with holes through which I will poke fairy lights. Got the idea from an Internet article, and thus far I have painted the board a fun colour:. Updates to come when it's done! In the meantime; a few snapshots of the living room:.
